Cheers Stevie,
I read all the posts on here and some had me laughing
You basically destroyed the kid with the points you were making and essentially flushed him out, because all that kid does is try and stir up shit. I may try and get back on the pound. Ate you still over there or doing a bit of moonlighting over here

Who is still over there ? What's it like these days ?
Glad i could be of service Sir Steve, once a pounder, always a pounder lol
Shut the fornicate up , if I remember well, the last time I had dealings with you, I drove your arse away and you said you would not debate with me again, now you have some of your dumb childish mates on here you are back, I am not stirring anything, only you, If I remember the last time you were rubbishing the achievements of another fighter, tried everything to make your opinion right, then gave up when you was out thought, then you went on another post and was praising the same fighter, when I highlighted how mixed up your brain was, you got all emotional, little madam.

I'm from Bolton, Amir's hometown and can say that the dislike in Bolton only came around after Amir turned pro.
Everyone was rooting for him at the Olympics and what a great job he did! However he did seem to get a little bit big for his boots, and his attitude changed after he turned pro. (Also my friends experiences upon meeting him/seeing him in Bolton didn't do a lot for my opinion on him)
My own personal problem with Amir, is his unwillingness to admit defeat or just to act as a true sportsman in general. Fair play, he doesn't trash talk as much as other fighters, but I found his excuse after excuse after excuse after the Peterson LOSS (Yes he did lose that fight despite the ref/mystery man/testosterone pellet in Lamont's hip) embarrassing beyond belief. He overlooked Lamont at a future fight with Mayweather, needlessly fought in DC and then complained about it afterwards. Needlessly put BOTH belts on the line and complained afterwards, AND did not insist on rematch clause. All subtle cockiness in my eyes. Pre-Garcia he was already talking about "cleaning up the division" and moving up to 147lbs, AGAIN overlooking the opponent in front of him.
After the Prescott mauling, he sacked his S&C coach. There's talk now of him insisting he be Roach's #1 priority above Pacquaio. Why would he be? Pacquaio on his day is (arguably) the best fighter on the planet and has fought some of the best fighters in the world and won. Khan has lost 3 times to opposition which shouldn't trouble a world class fighter.
I read a very interesting article on BoxingNewsOnline which suggested that Amir has not failed, just that he is simply not quite as good as everyone thought he was.
He says he won't fight Pac Man as they are in the same stable and refuses to fight Kell Brook (Who in my eyes is Britain's best at the weight) and basically wants to call himself the World's best without fighting the best. Garcia & Maidana aside, wins over an ageing Barrera and Malignaggi doesn't necessarily amount to a legacy for me.

Regardless of issues such as nationality and personality, I find the calls for Khan to retire to be knee-jerk in the extreme. He's merely 25 years old, is almost always in exciting fights, has won two world titles and has been in 8 consecutive world title fights, and has only lost in world class. Two of those defeats were due to tactical errors and one may well have been against a guy who was juicing. Has a guy who's younger than the average world-level fighter really done all that he can? Is a competitive loss to a world champion so damaging to his career that he can't climb back? Get real, people.
Especially when you consider people are talking about Chisora's potential - with 4 defeats behins him, at 4 years older than Khan, and with 2 of those defeats being below world level. A 15-4 29yo has more career upside than a 25yo two-belt champion? Really?

completely agree, he should have another crack at it. maybe at welter. if he comes unstuck again tho, he should def have to think about packing it in. prob is with tv contracts and things, its getting harder for fighters to come back with smaller rebuilding fights. he should have 1 in bolton i think, his confidence must be dented.
I always said in the build up to the haye vs chisora fight how much hype he was getting. he was being made out to be a beast for going the distance but losing comfortably to vitali. I mean his best win is sam sexton.

just read khans statement wnd he has the cheek to say that he never hand picks opponents. its such a blatant lie its funny. im sure the only reason he fought garcia was because like the rest of us he didnt rate him,and he he looked quite pedestrian in his last few fights. if it wasnt for the fact that he,s been spouting shite since his pro career began, i would be advising him to retire since he,s obviously taken one headshot too many.
25 is too young to retire for sure, but i think freddy roach summed it up by his reaction towards khan in the break between the third and fourth rounds....he just looked at him for a good ten seconds. now i dont know what he was thinking for sure , but im sure it was along the lines of " what a fornicating idiot, you just dont learn do you"
in the heat of the battle khan always seems to resort to the mindset of an eight year old having his first amatuer fight..close your eyes and start windmilling punches. if he hasnt learned to think when under pressure in 15 years of boxing , then what makes you think he will change now?

I think you've only got to look at Freddie and see what taking too many shots to the head can do to you.
His legs have jittered in fights that he hasn't gone down in ( Maidana, Peterson) and he's touched down against a man with no KO's in Rachid Drilzane. A jab by Prescott wobbled his knees.
He was sent crashing by a left hook by Michael Gomez, then Prescott sent him down with 2 left hooks, he got up and 2 left hooks put him down for good. Then Garcia put him over with a left hook.
Willie Limmond had him floored in desperate trouble, with a debatable long count. Limmond is not known as a huge puncher.
That is a lot of punishment people regard as 'still young'.

he has only lost in world class? not only is prescott nowhere near world class, the defeat was as a result of a brutal knockout
and it's not just the defeats. it's the way he reacts physically to some punches even in fights he's gone on to win.
we saw the wobbly legs and vacant eyes when maidana caught him.
i don't know if it's the shape of his jaw, the length of his neck, i'm no doctor, but it strikes me he has an anatomical predisposition for taking punches badly.
it's the way he reacts to getting punched and i'm not talking the way he chooses to fight after being rocked, thats just naivety. whether that can be cured remains to be seen. but the way his body physically goes to pieces after taking punches, that i genuinely believe a very high percentage of proffesional boxer should be able to take far more comfortably
for me it's not about who he's fought, what he's done in fights, what age he is or what he can go on to do in the sport.
it's about the fact i really think it's only a matter of time before he is seriously injured as a result of whatever is wrong with him that results in him turning into jelly after taking punches. i've seen very few people go as wobbly (for lack of a better term) as amir has done at times
i also think that any changes in attitude, preperation, style, conditioning, may help. but will never fully cure the problem. they may keep him out of bother but will never guarantee he wont end up badly knocked out again.
i also have my reservations as to whether amir is capable of making the changes required to keep him out of bother.
but if he does choose to carry on he needs to make radical changes. i'm talking rocky 3 shit here! he needs apollo creed to walk into his gym

Khan set to have 'crisis' talks with Roach.
Or should I say, his 'team' are having talks.
Says he also wants a rematch in December. But Garcia says that Khan wouldn't rematch him if he won, and hasn't rematched other inconclusive bouts.
Would GBP pay Garcia big money? Would Khan accept far less than his usual $950k?
