nah, youve said 'proper' a lot, but never really got much into the specifics of his camps. so any actualy changes to the content of his training?

Time is the major difference. YOu think one can have a complete and proper camp in 4-6 weeks or less? Less sparring; less working on specific areas of ones skills, etc. It's simple.

He wasn't a full time boxer. He worked a day job as well. Boxing was a sideline he enjoyed, since late last year he has been taking it seriously and the results have shown it in his last 3 fights, and especially his last outing. Still a long way to go, but some top guys are pitching in with his learning, so give it time. While no one expects him to challenge for world titles in so far as winning them, there are plenty of second tier bouts he can be competitive in.

Again, it's more than conditioning. I'm having deja vu all over again!

On one hand I'd like Price to win so we can see the back of the monumentally tiresome Allen.

But the problem with that is Price will then get chucked in over his head again and ... well we all know what happens.

Allen was (bizarrely) a 'Supply Teacher' for about six weeks and he did about three shifts on the Doors, apart from that he's never been in full time employment.

A good win for Price. He really needed this one and boxed well through out.

You have to let Pricey have his moment in the sun and the outburst during the IFL interview afterwards, IMO he was entitled to.

Whether it changes much time will tell. Price is top British level, but it get's dicey when he steps up to high-end Euro level and simply cannot cut it in world class, however, I'll gladly be proved wrong by Pricey and wish him well.

As for Allen, the same it true in as much as nothing really changes. He's high-end area level, good British level and cannot complete successfully beyond that. Again, wish him well and hope his health is in good tact.

I have enjoyed seeing Allen pick up a few decent wins recently because I like him as a personality, but, even though I’ve been quite a critic of Price and said on here many times he should hang ‘em up I am pleased he put in his best boxing display for a long time and picked up the win.

David Price is a trier and he certainly has a lot of talent and he deserves the shot in the arm that this gives his career...

david price has still never lost below euro level id say and he dropped/counted pov, thompson, and hammer. thats a decent level there. hes not quite this pathetic slouch figure many say, though obviously he needs careful match making

do we think he could beat someone like herve heabux? or otto wallin? or milan rovcanin? all these guys are/were high ranked ebu and two fought for the euro. id love to see big pricey add the ebu somehow to end commonwealth, brit, plus euro. if kabayel somehow gets a title shot maybe hed vacate

thats my pricey happy ending, doubt it goes that way, though i will say his matchmaking of lates been better, like they finally realised the level he needs to be at to get momentum and some credibility back, instead of repeatedly giving him lame east euro journeymen then shooting him back to world/euro level. soko, ali, then allen is the right way

Good points as always Mrs Thatcher. I think the mild scare versus Kash Ali added to this idea of Price being ready to go, but it does all seem psychological.

I think him versus Gerald Washington, coming off a big KO over Helenius, would be a winnable and entertaining undercard attraction for the all-new Price is (Now) Right.
