People are just commenting on his commentary. He wasn’t the best but I don’t find him as bad as some do in here.

He appeared to be the middle man between promoter and network and essentially did quality control for Sky Sports boxing. I have to say the quality has been a lot worse since he hasn’t been around and I can’t remember a time when U.K. boxing on Sky has been as bad as it has been this year.

I’m glad to hear he’s seemingly doing ok after his battle with cancer. I did get the impression though that he’s leaving Sky based on his Instagram post. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

There may still be an element of truth to the gambling/other stuff. I do find it strange that he’s seemingly leaving Sky after he’s been there so long when he wants to work on a ‘broader canvas’. You’d have thought Sky would be the perfect place for that.

Let’s see what happens but I’m glad he’s seemingly on the other side of his battle with cancer.

You think if a guy who’d been at Sky for 30 years was ill there wouldn’t be at least a ‘thoughts and prayers’ type post? No everyone just went silent. Well half that quote has turned out incorrect because it very much looks like they aren't welcoming him back (my guess is the current promoter and line up has played its part which Smith was very much involved in)

I will add though, I don't think for one minute the cancer story is untrue.
