I think if he has a serious last run at it and builds up sensibly and stays consistent then he could win the English title or the Commonwealth if it’s vacant and there’s a reasonable level of opponent.
I would like to see him do that - if for no other reason than Dave Allen's from my hometown and he reminds me of various lads I knew when I was young. Allen also showed a lot of bottle by getting in with the likes of White, Ortiz and Yoka when he was young.

He's already had a chance to win the Commonwealth though and blew it when he turned up to fight Lenroy Thomas in a pair of trainers (why would you do that with a title on the line?).

The second Thomas fight, Allen was unfortunate with the cut and the TD, especially as he showed up in decent shape, around 235lbs - which is surely more the weight he should be fighting at.
He could even box for the Area title, when was the last time that was contested at Heavyweight?
Who is the central area champion? Or is it vacant?

I'm prepared to get a petition going for Allen to face Bennett for the title if it's vacant

think the last Central Area holder was Chris Healey https://talksport.com/sport/1218067/tys ... ng-record/
Prior to that it was Kash Ali

yup deffo last contested in 2021 https://boxrec.com/en/title/282/Heavyweight. It has only been contested 15 times since 1950

I've messaged Joe Hayden one of his pros re the Area title suggestion. I think it's a good idea. Fight vs Bennett be good.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the messages good and bad, very fortunate to still be boxing, for those who care about my plans moving forward im not too sure what I will do, i certainly have no ambitions to box for the area title as I have seen above but if I get a win or two more and get some weight off babic and fisher are options as I see them as winnable and huge money but i have a nice life and kids now so nothing is definite, have a good week everyone

Dave, mix it up with Mark Bennett, you both know each other so would generate a few quid.

Hi mate, I went to school with mark he’s a good guy and a good fighter but when I can box fisher and babic for a hell of a lot more than a few quid if I am to take 10 and 12 round contest those are the guys I will box

Didn’t know Dave was on here. Fair play for coming on and not responding to some of the negative comments. Good luck on going forward I hope everything works out for you.

Of course those are the bigger fights but how can you turn down a Yorkshire derby? If you are confident in beating Bennett for what will be more than a few quid why not get it on?

The school bus bust up. A grudge match 20 years in the making. Who was the toughest guy on the Donnie school bus, it's a question that MasterG needs to know

Doncaster has produced so many boxers over the years. Conisbrough must have the most boxers per population in the UK!

I have boxed in different countries, I’ve headlined the o2 arena, I’ve done all sorts, probably more than my ability and definitely my work ethic deserved but at this point I pretty much done everything I wanted and more, i could box babic or fisher next if I wanted so I won’t be boxing for area titles at Donny dome (great swimming pool to be fair)

I’m aware some people have disdain for my attitude towards boxing and training over the years but I’m a steady decent fella just a fat lazy twat I’m up for a laugh and can take some stick if people don’t go too far

no disdain here, you've stepped through the ropes as a pro 30 times, fought for the Commonwealth title, have a reputation where I live as someone who is always kind, you came to our local gym to help for free, you've given us great nights in fights with Webb, Bracamonte, Browne and co, and never become a big time charlie. I'm personally rooting for you. And how you look after Joe Hayden is how a boxing manager should be.
