Agreed. People need to NOT bring race in to it... race/religion talk should be banned

Agreed. Its the race card being played. Right, there will always be a few dickheads who want to troll or are genuinely racist. But the majority don't like Khan because he comes across as idiot. He could be white and people would dislike him. Look at Joe Calzaghe circa 1998. He was trying to pull the Naz cocky talk and he was loathed. This was due to him having no charisma and people thinking there was no tongue in cheek element and he was just an ass. It took Joe a long time to become popular (and a change of tack) This was nothing to do with colour of his skin, and it isn't with Khan.

I hate the race card. look at John Barnes last night on that documentary saying he was only ever sacked due to racism...WTF? The answer is usually more simple

Wrists wrote:Funny thing happened I watched a British sportsman lose on Sunday morning and a large amount of Brits were happy with the result. That almost never happens.........

Now I realise that as Brits we always get behind our sportsman, lets face it no-one wanted Roger Federer to beat Andy Murray did they?? I mean we all love Andy Murray because he doesn't smile that much and made an innocent comment years ago about the England football team, personally I think that at the time as an 18 year old he should have known better...........

I mean take that horrible Amir for instance, he should have said No to that Andreas Kotelnik fight (lets face it all of us would) in favour of an 8 rounder against Sid Razak and the Dagenam and Goresbrook leisure centre, you see it would have been better for his development and lets face it a shot in the arm for the common man. How dare he win a silver medal at 17 (the cheek of it) and then decide to fight the best at his weight. Shocking behaviour.

Listen, some of the crap on here is cringeworthy, I think people need to long look at themselves if they continue to be harsh with Amir. Jealousy is a horrible trait to have, seemingly loads on here have it in droves.

What I saw was a Brit being soundly beaten and I felt sad. I suggest if you felt the opposite you should be ashamed of yourself.
It used to be true that Khan played the good guy and people still didnt like him because of his religion and race. After all of that he has fought mostly abroad and has become to put it bluntly his own man which seems to be a fairly obnoxious guy at times in the way he seems to think constantly he is in the league of Mayweather and Pacquiao and some of his online pronouncements.

The fact of the matter is Amir is 25. I said this a long long time ago. he still fights a very amaterish style and considering his raw talent even before the loss to Garcia I was saying on these pages he was a disapointment as a pro. As
A) He still fights that amateur herky jerly rush in blindly with his chin forward style. Such a style has resulted in Khans punch power being decreased and his chin being found often. PLus he wastes a hell of a lot of energy with all the jumping around.

Ive said it before and ill say it again. Khan needs to get a new trainer and learn to fight like a pro. With his speed and neglected power, Khan should be a counter puncher .

he doesnt have the intelligence or self control to be a counter puncher. as soon as someone has the impertinance to land on his pin head the red mist descends....

Not liking somebody based on their religion isn't really a crime though is it? It's a choice they make, just like the choice to be a vegetarian or into kinky sex.

Yes, I agree, but they don't say nothing if the Irish who wear green or if some fighters wear the Jamacian flag on their shorts, Khan got a lot of stick for wearing the union jack as well, just because you wear the colour of Islam or even Pakistan it does not mean you support terrorist's and if you wear the union jack it does not mean you support colonialism, they are symbols of where you are born or originate.

Hardly the same mate, if you don't employ someone because he is muslim it is against the law, if you don't like people because of faith that's your choice, but it is what action you take that is the problem.

Or should I say, his 'team' are having talks.

Says he also wants a rematch in December. But Garcia says that Khan wouldn't rematch him if he won, and hasn't rematched other inconclusive bouts.

Would GBP pay Garcia big money? Would Khan accept far less than his usual $950k?

Doubt it seeing as they always seem to be taking a bath whenever they pout on a Khan show, hence why he fought Peterson in DC. He doesn't sell in the US, outside of HBO televising him.

Hey I love kinky sex but whenever I brag about what me and the missus get up to in the bedroom some people seem really shocked, put off and somewhat disgusted.

I don't like him because he permanently crippled a man driving like a fornicating idiot, and he insists on compromising his exceptional talent by also boxing like a fornicating idiot. I dislike idiots. I guess this makes me prejudiced against idiots.

Think you will find nowadays it is called Islamophobia and you will find if you read the posts again it was also mentioned and I also mentioned that green is the colour of Pakistan, a race ! Do you actually read or understand what people write on here ? your now getting boring, you seem to be somehow representing the ignorant people who carry out such actions as their defense attorney, be it in a less intelligent form.

Well I'm fully against Islamic extemists, something Khan clearly is not. People who had a problem with his shorts are retarded. He wears a different colour pretty much every fight, probably just liked the colour green at the time. They're only shorts at the end of the day

Islamophobia is not Islamic extremism, Islamophobia is fear and discrimination against Islam.

Personally I find Khan arrogant and rather tiresome, I remember him saying that he could beat Floyd Mayweather in a 4 round fight when hed been a pro for less than a year or so!. This from someone who pulled out of the ABA finals after he was floored in one of the early rounds!. I thought maybe Khan would mature and become a more rounded person as he got older but apparently he hasnt judging by his often quoted boasts of being a superstar etc or posing with a wad of cash in a stripclub etc etc etc... I just do not find him a particularly likeable or admirable guy and would feel same way about him whether he was white, black, yellow or green. I really belive that most boxing fans are the same as me, very few dislike Khan becuase of his colour or religion, it is his personality that rubs many the wrong way, just as it was with Joe Calzaghe and for a time with Carl Froch. Froch has generated more fans lately due to his walking the walk but also showing himself as a more rounded character of late. Frochs gracious manner after his defeat to Ward probably won him more fans than all his previous fights put together. Khan could learn a few things from Carl if he opened his eyes.

Not sure who it was, but he was floored but won on points, only to pull out of the rest of the competition and turn pro instead. Looking back over his career it is things like this which have probably added to the problems he has now. I think he would have benifited from another year or so as a Amuteur, building on the basics etc he has never learn basic defense, and with his vulnerbility that is a fatal flaw
