Sulęcki had a serious hand injury when the fight was announced, he had not a full camp (he had quite a lot of time to prepare though), also, his new trainer and his advices in the corner were useless.

that said, i have no doubt that even without these factors Sulęcki would lose that fight. This style is like a kryptonite for him. Andrade had a size and reach advantage but what surprised me he had faster hands as well. i thought that Sulęcki will be faster and will get inside quite easy but Andrade's side position, awkward moves, reach advantage, better athleticism and southpaw stance caused that Sulęcki looked hopeless. Sulęcki should walk left, he was walking right, that was a huge mistake too. I underestimated Andrade a lot. he's boring, he's economical, but he's good.

Broadly agreed but also to me he was lacking any plan B. He couldn’t change anything when things didn’t work according to plan. I think this is where you see the quality of the coach...

yes, Wilczewski is Polish or Euro level trainer at best.. the fact is that his fighters get more stiff and schematical than they were before, Masternak was the best example. I'd like to see Sulęcki with Łapin but it's, unfortunately, impossible.

I don’t rate Łapin tbh. Yes he seems to be better than Wilczewski but I haven’t seen any of his fighters improved tremendously under his guidance (as opposed to late Gmitruk). In such case I think best Polish boxers are better off finding a solid foreign coach, either in US or UK.

to be fair to him, he's a trainer of 2 World Champions and European Champions, i think that he is good, Szpilka looked better with him than with Shields, the problem with him that he teaches all of his fighters more or less the same style. I'd like Sulęcki to work with him or Roman Anuchin. i'd like Paweł Stępień to work with Łapin. Some fighters fit well into Łapin's school, i think that Stępień (and Czerkaszyn too) is one of them.

Polish fighters and foreign trainers? i don't like that, it usually doesn't work due to language bareer, Szpilka+Shields, Masternak+Wegner/Bramowski are examples of that.

No trainer could help sulecki in this match up. He could never win a Rd.

Because, not getting hit is his main concern. He is not throwing much himself and not hurting his opponents at all.

Did the trainer tell Sulecki to get inside? That was his only chance.

I turned it off after 4rds, others are complaining about the trainer. They're leagues apart in skills and sulecki doesn't even punch harder or take a better punch. He needed intervention from God to win.

Some imaginative punch stat numbers there. I only remember about one or two punches landing from the both of them all fight long. Strong candidate for the worst fight of the year. The ref should have warned Andrade to stop showboating and get in there and fight.

I would. If I was ref I would have warned Andrade for showboating and standing off and deducted points. But I knew that Andrade getting the win was a given due to the hometown thing. And you?

For his part Sulecki seemed totally befuddled by Andrade's clown and stand off tactics.

At least I didn't pay anything to see it - and I still want a refund!

My eyes were closing. I had to get up and walk in order to be able to see the end of the snooze fest.

Agreed. Although I do think that some kind of change of tactics could’ve maybe won Sulecki couple of rounds. Having said this, that was a terrible style match up for Sulecki who looked so much better vs Jacobs.

the biggest change i wouldve recommended to sulecki was that he shouldve been moving toward andrades right hand more instead of moving so much to the left, but i dont think theres much he couldve done really to be compeitive, andrade just had that natural fluid reflexes and faster hands that would allow him to peck away pretty easily vs a stiffer slower guy

of course, he was walking the wrong direction, that was the most obvious error of Sulęcki

Onetimeonly wrote: 30 Jun 2019, 13:13 Unreal you didn't win that. All Parker had to do was rip the body and it would have been over in 2.
It was a bizarre performance from Parker, after his loss to Whyte he spoke about being more vicious, then destroyed his next domestic opponent in a round or 2. Against Leapai he looked like he just couldn't be arsed and wanted to go back to bed. Not sure what that was about, he hardly cemented his claim to a title shot by plodding around the ring with Leapai for half an hour.
