I'm reluctant to say I'm disgusted, but it just seems so unnecessary.

Thousands of people up and down the country will be out and about tonight and over the weekend getting rat arsed. But a bit of professional sport with all the sacrifice that comes with it, nah that has to go, out of respect.

Absolutely no reason to cancel. It could have taken place in a respectful way. Cricket is being held tomorrow and those athletes don't work towards key dates like boxers.

Now we will never know the true result if it had taken place on the original date. Anything can happen with their peaks or niggling injuries.

Given the blanket media coverage I was looking forward to an oasis of sport. Now I guess I'll just sit and watch another politician/celebrity tell us their memories of the Queen (who I do admire btw) in order to improve their own PR.

Just shows how out of touch the Board are. Whole organisation needs a massive shakeup. Just like the monarchy.

At least it gives them time to give a few more tickets away.

As big of a sports woman the Queen was I do find it a bit strange that all sports be canceled. She was known to be a big horse racing fanatic, among other events.

So I'm not so sure the Queen would have wanted that, but then again I also know that this was the head of state. Still if my memory serves me right sporting events did not shut down when George VI died.

These canceling of events in Britain have been mostly going on ever since Princess Diana passed away. Anyways could you imagine the excuses made by the fighters if they lose their matches would be, "had the fight went down on the original date I would have won."

Yeh, Cricket are continuing.

So cricket is carrying on, horse racing resumes on Sunday but the Board says there can't be any boxing on Saturday night.
