Re: Fury vs Ngannou
Do you think Ngannou is playing possum and will be sharper on fight night than he looks in these videos?

Because there are so few young contenders, nobody wants to take a risk, they either get a title shot they aren't ready for, or tread water, learning nothing, jameswilson wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 12:17 I'm amazed someone like Frank Sanchez isn't champing at the bit to get a mando spot with someone. Beat that Efe Agjaba guy in 2021 which was prospect v prospect but has fought cans since then rather than go for a final eliminator.
The heavyweight division is in worse shape now, than it was when Tyson came along.

Possible cos he looks so bad. But surely he knows this isn’t a real contest, basically an exhibition. It would sell more if Ngannou looked good. As it is he has no chance. Good job this isn’t actually a fight.
Even the dodgy sanctioning body’s might struggle to licence this guy.
This is basically WWE.

They're all unsanctioned and presumably without permission of the BBBofC. Fury fights in England without a BBBofC licence (I'll let you guess why) and David Adeleye does. Because the WBC title isn't at stake, there is no need to have silly little things like drug testing.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 07:01funso banjo baby wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 05:49 This may have been asked a 100 times but, why is the entire bill not on boxrec?

It's interesting that there have been a few unsanctioned shows in history, which still make BoxRec. Like Foreman-Grimsley, which has the IBA and WBU titles at stake.
Wardley-Adeleye is an interesting one, where presumably the British title will not be at stake. That fight isn't an exhibition, but is unsanctioned, so let's see if that one finds its way onto BoxRec. I doubt it,
Re: Fury vs Ngannou
Are you implying that Fury is using ped's to beat this guy? Now I am not keen on this fight, but to come out with stuff like that is mental and just sillyjwfg wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 08:11They're all unsanctioned and presumably without permission of the BBBofC. Re: Fury vs Ngannou
They’re clearly not putting these clips out to impress anyone. Ngannou should look considerably better on the night.
If not, he surely has to have some kind of underlying health condition.

Re: Fury vs Ngannou
Fury failed two tests in the past, one of which didn't come to light for more than a year. He also doesn't have a BBBofC licence and won't be making a defence of his title until at least a year since his last fight. Make of that, what you will.Alba wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 08:21Are you implying that Fury is using ped's to beat this guy? Re: Fury vs Ngannou
No. I’ve watched him the UFC he can’t box, with 4oz gloves on he can swing from the hip so looks faster than he does here.big lennox wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 14:58 Do you think Ngannou is playing possum and will be sharper on fight night than he looks in these videos?
But he’s just a big, slow lump. He’s going to be a heavy bag in there.
Re: Fury vs Ngannou
It’s probably scripted. Fury will be stringing him along for a few rounds. At some point he’ll take a shot or 2 and try to make it look like he’s been bothered. Then he ends it somewhere in the agreed time.Frostieballs wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 03:37 Good job this isn’t actually a fight.

It’s an exhibition and we’ve already seen this nonsense with Mayweather and McGregor. I guess enough time has passed for them to pull of the exact same con again.
It’s shameless really.

Agreed. The problem is that the fans are mugs.
Re: Fury vs Ngannou
The people I know who are buying the 'fight' are all UFC fans, who occasionally watch boxing. When I asked one of them why, he said, 'because it's entertainment'. WWE is fake as hell, but it's entertaining, so maybe they're right. I won't be watching to find out.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 10:23Monzon83 wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 09:53It’s probably scripted. Is Fury licensed by any board? Like a Luxembourg license or something?jwfg wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 09:35Fury failed two tests in the past, one of which didn't come to light for more than a year.
