I think we are part of the centrist brigade here. Immigration for cheap labor and so fools can feel less guilty is a huge no-no. The immigration issue also pushes people to the Right. For example when someone votes Reform or GOP in the US, they may be voting on immigration. Sadly, at least in the US, they re also f*king up the environment, not to mention probably their own birth control.

The only way we’re gonna save the planet and the natural environment is to come up with an alternative to fossil fuels and to also acknowledge that unlimited continuous growth is impossible when we’re dealing with finite resources.

There are only so much fish in the oceans to catch, only so much minerals in the ground to dig up and only so much arable land to grow crops on without having to destroy all the world’s forests to increase crop production.

Unlimited growth is impossible and unsustainable on this planet without destroying the whole ecosystem of the planet and especially with population growth fueling the need for more of everything.

It’ll be a slow death spiral if we don’t reduce the world’s population and stop stripping the planet of all its resources and this is my main point of contention with capitalism. At some point humanity has to realize that we can’t continue to strip the world of everything to maintain growth.
