I think draining your bigger opponent is unfair unless an offer comes from his side. It is somewhat like having somebody hold your opponent while you are beating him.Bobbyptsd wrote:There's a fair bit of nuance between unfair and strategic.ikorolev wrote: Some are buying judges, others drain their opponents. Re: Cotto vs Geale
Geale should probably retire now. If not at least hang around oz and fight some domestic opponents. I'm sure him and soliman would sell. Or even a rubber match with Mundine.Ive felt he was never the same after the Barker fight. I've meet him bwfore, he's a super nice guy, but yes quit in two big fights now, I know on some level it may be the right thing to do, probably thinking of his young family, but on the other hand, this is boxing, and people pay a lot for tickets, and sometimes hotels and flights too, so it a not a good look when a guy quits at the first sign of trouble.
Whatever he does, good luck to him, he's had a solid career and beaten some solid fighters

Re: Cotto vs Geale
Geale/Soliman or Geale/Murray would be decent because none of them are huge punchers.
Re: Cotto vs Geale
The best that can be said about Cotto v Geale is that at least Cotto fought someone who was fit unlike the injured Margarito and Martinez he previously fought.
