Oh man, a hard to watch one sided beat down on the end of a sickening jab.
So Smith, who went in an underdog, beats one George Groves , and you're convinced that makes him a sure thing to beat Canelo Alvarez?
Canelo will finish his career recognized as one of Mexico's greatest fighters. And Mexico has had some great great fighters.
Callum Smith will likely be a little remembered footnote in boxing lore.
Canelo is a superb technician in the ring. He will dismantle Rocky shortly and win another world title.
He would also dismantle Callum. The same way Canelo did his brother when he was only half the fighting machine he is today.
That's just unreasoned cheer-leading imo.
His brother is a LMW about 5'9" not a massive 6'3" SMW
Canelo IS good, but he's been a weight-bully and drug cheat too.

I make him the favourite, sure. I've followed Smith's career for some time, and when he doesn't get dragged into silliness he's hard to beat if you're a much shorter counterpuncher yourself. The main doubt I have is that he wouldn't respect Canelo's power as much as he did Groves' and might make a mistake. But a favourite I make him.
Can't argue with you about Canelo being better-remembered by the general public. Reckon you're surely right on that.

Smith is so much bigger than Canelo, even I'd make him the favourite. Canelo isn't Jesus.

It'd at least be an interesting fight. This looks a bit pointless.

Canelo isn't invincible. He gets caught a fair bit. It's just his chin is made of granite and he hits more and bigger than he gets hit

Fielding needs to hold his ground and fire. He's losing too much power on the backfoot and encouraging Canelo.

Fielding could've done much better with more aggressive tactics, is my feeling. Trying to keep it long was letting Canelo load up as he came forward.

Bigger mismatch than i expected but at least the Skybet price boist rds 1-3 got over the line.
Solidifys my opinion Canelo is p4p #1.

Shades of Sexton-Price!
My main takeaway is that Canelo wasn't worried about Fielding's power (at least not while he was able to keep backing him up), and for that reason I think I'd love to see Canelo-Groves.

Poor old Rocky. Just a lamb to the slaughter.
Canelo has developed into a great fighter. Think a few years back Matthem Hatton went the distance with him and Ryan Rhodes almost did.
Massive difference in levels there tonight.
How would Cabell handle Smith? I think he'd just chop him down. Too strong. Great fight though.
Rocky will have set himself up with that fight though. Good on him, seems like a nice young lad.

callums a total world apart from feldng and is massve. would not be small at 175. not really sure canelo would have any strength on him. remember callum destroyed feldng in about 2 mnutes. callums never been budged either...much more durable then feild

Canelo certainly has a chance against Callum, but he'd have to get past a lot more reach with good power behind it. Shootout against Groves.
But I expect him to target the remains of DeGale.

Who's eligible for the WBO at SMW now? Will Canelo go straight for Uzcategui or Ramirez?
Dunno if he'll fancy another light test, or if he feels it's better to strike while his iron's hot. We'll see.
