This isn’t true, there isn’t a standing 8 count in pro boxing and a mandatory 8 count is only given if a fighter is dropped.forcefraser wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:37
When Cameron went back onto the ropes he could have given a count, not wave it off.
Unless the ref determines that the ropes held the fighter up.Controversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:41This isn’t true, there isn’t a standing 8 count in pro boxing and a mandatory 8 count is only given if a fighter is dropped.forcefraser wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:37

Yeah but that wasn’t the case in this fightJimmy2025 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:53Unless the ref determines that the ropes held the fighter up.Controversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:41This isn’t true, there isn’t a standing 8 count in pro boxing and a mandatory 8 count is only given if a fighter is dropped.forcefraser wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:37

Looked like he sat on the middle rope at one point. That’s what prompted him to stop it in the first place.Controversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 11:01Yeah but that wasn’t the case in this fightJimmy2025 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:53Unless the ref determines that the ropes held the fighter up.Controversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:41

Yeah but he didn’t fall into the ropes and wasnt only held up by themRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 11:20Looked like he sat on the middle rope at one point. That’s what prompted him to stop it in the first place.
I meant he wasn’t only held up by them, typo
Saw him for the first time Saturday, looks a real talent.THEBUTCH wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 13:20 Most believe it was stopped too early and the Poll that's up & running now will show this.
Picking up on the verdict about how good Whittaker actually is....he ain't especially good and I'd be inclined to get much more excited by anither prospect's performances....Georgio Visioli !
In comparison to Whittaker, Visioli is better skilled, stronger and much more exciting![]()
Do yourself a favor have a gander through all his fights, get aboard the Visioli train, excellent to watchrd350lc wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 13:26Saw him for the first time Saturday, looks a real talent.THEBUTCH wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 13:20 Most believe it was stopped too early and the Poll that's up & running now will show this.

It depends on whether you think the ropes held him up. It looked they wereControversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:41This isn’t true, there isn’t a standing 8 count in pro boxing and a mandatory 8 count is only given if a fighter is dropped.forcefraser wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 10:37

I don’t think they did, his knees dipped for a split second where he appeared to sit and stand up again but the ropes didn’t stop him falling down.forcefraser wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 15:51It depends on whether you think the ropes held him up. I.lm going to watch againControversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 07:02They can only give a mandatory 8 count when a fighter is dropped, the only option the ref had was to let it continue or stop it.
maybe he wasn't thinking straight because of the first punch that had him wobblyconeye wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 19:27I.lm going to watch againControversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 07:02They can only give a mandatory 8 count when a fighter is dropped, the only option the ref had was to let it continue or stop it.
But at one point he looked to be leaning on the ropes . Which could be took for being held up . BUT surmising I.m wrong brings me to another post I put up . WHY did.nt he take a knee. Don.t they discuss it practice it in the gym . You get caught
You get hurt don't matter who you are . Fighters pride don't want to.let them go down. But it should be discuss red d in the gym on when and how to use it to your advantage . ESPECIELLY if the plan is to follow him around with your hands up making him work . And punch himself out Which was obviously the case here
I don’t know if they teach it but I guess things go out the window sometimes even if they do teach it, we see plenty of fighters jump straight up when knocked down instead of taking a longer count and clearing their heads.coneye wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 19:27I.lm going to watch againControversial wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025, 07:02They can only give a mandatory 8 count when a fighter is dropped, the only option the ref had was to let it continue or stop it.
