Plus, what distinguishes a title as genuine or not? You could argue that the WBC and WBA are just as corrupt or lacking in integrity as any other two-bit organisation, so where does one draw the line when sanctioning titles on home soil?
Oh I totally agree - this is why MMA is gaining popularity over boxing because the best fighters are fighting each other - thats all the people want - the best to
fight the best - no-one cares about titles or why Lewis can't fight Bowe or why someone gets stripped because he won't fight so and so...
I was using Japan as an example of a boxing board who have decided to use some quality control - its not perfect as the WBA/WBC are as bad as the rest
but it is a better siutation than the one we have got - the reason commonwealth title fights have took a downward turn in quality is because of these
crappy bogus titles in my opinion..
