Get it on here mate. It was a great fight. I've got it on DVD along with some other of Dave's fights. Got his fights with Paul Dyer, Brett James, Spencer Fearon, John Humphrey, Jimmy Vincent, Roman Karmazin and Jamie Moore. The Brett James fight was a good fight

You referring to both KD's being in the same round? if not Haye-JMM, Khan-Gomez
I was referring to the first fighter who got knocked down, get up and KD the other fighter with his first punches thrown since getting off the canvas exactly like Maidana did. Still some good suggestions here for what i wanted.

Kaylor-Gumbs is a good one. Kaylor climbed off the floor and broke Roy's heart before he dropped him for the count.

I don't think anybody's listening to you, even after the second time you said it.
Eubank-Watson II is the first that springs to mind which fits your criteria
exactly.

Somebody more astute mentioned Johnson-Ketchel near the start of the thread for the world heavyweight title (as opposed to a fight for the WBO trinket and a near-tragedy).
Ketchel was out for several minutes
immediately after dropping Johnson. The word is Johnson agreed to 'wear the cuffs' en route to a decision win but Ketchel took his sneaky chance and Johnson jumped up and flung off those cuffs. The picture of one happy black face amid a sea of glum white in the crowd as Johnson casually leans on the ropes is unforgettable.

Wasn't aware there was a miniumum entry level for inclusion in this list, or that a serious injury would cancel out the events of the fight. Sorry.

Imagine Terry O'Conner or John Coyle in charge of this one, he'd have dived in more than Greg Luganis.

That's all right, you just don't know your history. The first thought is Eubank-Watson II, my arse.

I didn't say that was the first incidence, I just said it was my first thought, i.e. the first one that sprang to mind. This is because I happened to watch that when it happened, whereas Johnson-Ketchel was only slightly before my time. Doesn't mean I didn't know about it, FFS. I mean, if somebody said "name a sci-fi movie", I'd more likely say Star Wars than Metropolis, not because I "don't know my history", just because that springs to mind more readily.
Anyway, the OP asked for something specific, and I gave a good example. The fact it was for a "WBO trinket" and ended in a serious injury doesn't detract from the criteria one bit.

Eubank-Watson II was one of the worst things that happened to boxing. The WBO allowed two middleweights to jump up and fight for their 'world' super-middleweight title straight off. It was the start (along with Eubank-Stretch a wee earlier) of world titles no longer meaning anything.

Currie-Notice.
Notice was knocked down in the 6th, then put Currie down and moments later forced a stoppage.
I liked Horace a lot. Shame his career was curtailed. He had a lot going for him.

Agree 100%, but none of that means the fight itself didn't have an incidence of what the OP was asking for. For some reason you just wanted to belittle me by using an older example, as if that alone makes it more meritous.
Barker-Samuels was nowhere near world title level and only happened this century, so I guess whoever nominated that was only proving their ignorance, eh? I'm off to scour latter-day reports of some James Figg fights to see if I can get one over you. ;)

Walker down end of first and second, and all over the place.
Fearon down in third, then tko'd by Walker in fourth.
Classic.
I will never forget that. On both occasions walker went down virtually on the bell to end the round. Walker's eyes were in orbit both times, and had the knockdowns been 10 seconds earlier, he'd never have made it out of the rounds.
It was one of the most remarkable fights I've ever seen.

Agree. Shavers, however, got saved by a standing eight-count which I'm not sure was legal.
Roy "Tiger" Williams was a fighter whom the big boys steered around.

On second sight, the referee was consistent and also gave Williams a potentially fight-saving eight-count, but Williams was too hurt to come back.
Great choice, Physio. What a war!

For my money the WBC allowing Sugar Ray Leonard to fight for
2 of their world titles (super middle and light heavy) against Donny Lalonde on the same night in 1988 was a more damaging manipulation of what world titles
should mean.
The WBO just added to the farce.
