Hall's training quite clearly tells him to f.uck off after the fight, when Small goes over the the corner.

As I said earlier, I could understand the frustration, but basic boxing ettiquette is to shake hands, no matter how angry you feel.

ettiquette???? Small is a disrespectful piece of sh*t and deserves alot worse than an 'eff off. He aint no gentleman. And as for marmite he's kidding himself, not that many people like him. More like ghonnorea, irritating, embarassing and people want to get rid of him. And purrrrlease dont compare him to Eubank either, not fit to lace his boots.

Yes, thats his style, his personna- a lot of boxers have been like that.

However, anyone who follows Small will see that it IS just a personna, an act, part of his gameplan.

Why was Small told to f*** off? Did Small do anything improper in the corner?

It seemed quite a petty way to act towards him, in my opinion.

Just the way Hall's corner felt about him, I assume.

Small was much more modest after the fight.

I for one am glad that Small totally bashed up Hall. The comment from Hall about biting Smalls nose off was totally disrespectful, way over the mark, and not welcome in professional boxing.

I'm less bothered now than i was before the contest as in the end Small totally outclassed him, outgunned him, outthought him and outfought him. Small showed he was better than Hall in every department and destroyed him.

Good work Anthony Small. One up for the Londoner's. All we need now is Haye to bash up Vitali.

I think the fight was won in the press conference where Small really got under Hall's skin, leading the Mancunian to fight the way the Londoner wanted him to fight

To be honest, I'd be tempted to suggest that Hall is just one dimentional.

Just seen footage of the stoppage now. It always looks different live! But yeah, Hall just gets bashed and drops his guard, ref was definatly right to jump in.

I really like Small's desire and attitude. He's a showman who backs up his antics in the ring. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't win a world title if he's given the chance. I had a look at the youtube clip of him crying after the Pryce defeat - it's a classic!!

Have you got a link? (PM If needed)
This was on TV, sorry, I don't think it's online.

Each to their own. I dislike his attitude and showmanship. I found it irritating and disrespectful and he just comes accross as a complete bell. He rubs me up the wrong way.
Maybe its just me, because I dont get that with Haye, never got it with Eubank etc. Naz irritated me at times but had the class to back it up. I imagine ultimately its because I dont believe Small has the talent and class and believes he is much better than he is.
At least he's a character I suppose, and I am going to love to hate him.

I must say, I like Small. Yes, he acts the clown, but he has faced decent opposition, and is a capable fighter.

To be honest, I'd say his antics are just a bit of fun.

Antics or no antics, that combo that finished off Hall was if not World class then damn near close to it

I was watching it in Sports Cafe and after the 3rd or so punch of the combo landed I said to my freind 'he's gone, he's gone'. 10 punches later and teh ref stops the fight. It was a thing of beauty

Yes the finish was awesome - about 15 unanswered punches from Small - great finish. I've got a lot of time for Brian Hughes - a british boxing legend, but no matter how much a twat Small acted/is he shouldn't have told him to eff off when he came over to give Hall his due IMO. That left abit of a bad taste for me. I really thought like many here, Hall would knock Small out but that Small is what you would call awkwardly effective. He looks like he's improved since the Bradley Pryce fight too.

I think he would beat Rhodes as well, but that fight is unlikely to happen.

I think Ryan believes Small would be him also, but can not see how Small beats Jamie Moore.

JM mid to late ko or wide points.

For me the fight was interesting and one of the reasons was you had a Tyson clone (Hall) Vs a RJJ clone ( Small).

Small needs to cut out the RJJ stuff becuse that will get him stretched against higher oposition.

Hall was out of it, yeah, after the last punch he just dropped his hands and hunched forwards.

Agreed and I'm a Manc, Hall is a hooligan basically with knobhead fans and a bad reputation. Small just outclassed him in every department.

I actually thought Hall's cornerman reacted as he did because they were still checking if their man was ok and didn't need Small interfering while he's probably still in a daze.

I was surprised the ref didn't jump in a couple of shots earlier, that was some heavy punishment he was taking.

Still, hope Small can move on to a European challenge now rather than getting bogged down at domestic level.

It's an interesting point about whether Hughes was right or not to tell Small to f*ck off.

Small was acting like a complete dickhead in the run up to the fight, an absolute bell end. Insulting Halls intelligence among other things, and just generally being a pr*ck.

I don't know if people saw Brock Lesnars antics after he beat Frank Mir the other week. He basically said to Mir after the fight, "Did you like that mate!?" and got in his face. Mir was behaving very arrogantly in the run up to the fight and disrespecting Lesnar at every opportunity.

I criticized Lesnar at first but then I got thinking and I actually applaud what he did. He was BEING REAL... no fake emotions there. He wasn't acting as if it didn't bother him that Mir was disrespecting him and he wasn't acting as though he liked Mir after the fight. How could he after Mir had disrespected him so much.

It wasn't Hughes place to tell Small to f*ck off, but he loves his fighter and he is in there taking every punch his fighter is taking. Small acts like an absolute pr*ck, by far the worst knob end I've seen and probably the most annoying and I don't blame Hughes for telling him to f*ck off. Again, he was being real, unlike Small who puts on this whole entire act to con the fans and then expects to be forgiven after the fight. That's not going to happen because he does it differently to the likes of Eubank and Naz. They had humour and substance, Hall is just a disrespectful blabbermouth and I wouldn't mind, but he's already been done at British level and clearly hasn't even mastered the fundamentals of punching technique.

To be honest, I thought Small came across much better than Hall pre-fight. He was entertaining, cheeky and put his neck on the line. He made boasts and he made claims that he knew he'd have to back up on the night. He single-handedly made the fight interesting. Who really gave a shite about Matthew Hall against Bradley Pryce? Nobody. Suddenly he gets paired with Small and the fight becomes a mini event - thanks to Small.

Hall, for his part, came across as a moody and miserable Manc with a chip on his shoulder. Watch the press conference. Although he was obviously annoyed by Small's antics, there was still something extremely unlikeable about Hall, especially when he's being interviewed. All this 'I'll do my talking in the ring' doesn't really cut it at a pre-fight press conference and I'm glad Small actually pulled Hall up on it.

As for the fight, Small was leagues above Hall. Way too classy and versatile. As annoying as he can sometimes be, Small can flat out fight and is better than all these other manufactured prospects out there in Britain. He had it hard as an amateur, has had it hard as a pro, lives the life, has never been floored and has come back from defeat well. He's looking tougher and tougher to beat as time goes on.

Hall made comments about Small "was going to be blowing out of his arse" or something like that, saying that he (Small) would get tired. Small's responce, which was quite right, was to say "So your gameplan is just based on me not training properly?"

Hall's "I'm going to bite your nose off" and "I'm going to stangle you with this belt" were... interesting.
