Froch's win over Dirrell didn't seem to impress very many people, and largely because of this I decided against moving Froch to the top.

He should have at least two more good chances of getting the top spot next year. If he loses both of his next fights then it would probably be a good thing that I didn't put him at the top of the list.
iwz678 wrote:the likes of Murray and Cleverly should be higher than Nicky Cook who has done nothing since losing his belt to Martinez
I thought it was a little bit too early to move Murray and Cleverly above Cook. Murray and Cleverly both climbed 6 places this month, for there wins over Thaxton and Fry, which is pretty good as neither opponent was considered very highly at the time. Unless Cook beats someone decent soon then Murray, Cleverly and others will most likely overtake him after their next wins.
iwz678 wrote:and I also think Booth should be ahead of Napa
Booth's opposition has not been as good as Napa's recently, in my opinion. Booth has looked good against them, but I can only move him up so many places at a time if he fights relatively weak opposition.
iwz678 wrote:and that Martin Lindsay is ranked a little bit too high.
Lindsay has wins over Mathews and Appleby and is the number one domestic Featherweight. He has been a little bit inactive recently, but I would say that his recent record is good enough to keep him above those below him for now.

Murray has not beaten an opponent that is above domestic level yet, so I don't think that it is crazy to leave him out of the top 10.

Does a Pacman loss and Malinaggi, Lazcano victories, beat Froch's wins over Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell?

I'd have sided with Froch and given him No.1

And because Froch won't put on and lose 18st before Kessler.
I would say that Froch's recent results are better, but Hatton just about stays at number one based on his better results in the past.

Its a current list after all.

What does it say about British Boxing if getting knocked out by a p4p smaller man makes you number 1?
Is Pacquiao smaller than Hatton? Hatton was rubbish against Pacquiao, but Pacquiao is the P4P number one, so it shouldn't be held against him too much.

How would Carl Froch fare against a Super Middleweight equivalent of Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather? Kessler and Abraham might help to answer that question.

Froch Number 1!!!
:OhYes:
Hatton has many World class wins and is more proven than Froch at the top level. Froch's recent wins may be better than Hatton's recent wins, but overall Hatton has the better record.

Mundine?

Froch Number1!

:OhYes:
Kessler has also beaten Andrade and Beyer.

Exactly, unfortunately, there is a lot of Froch cheerleaders on here.As i have said before, let him come back when he has a record even approaching Rick's.As for the super middle pac's,equivallent,i could name about twenty who would have beat him in the last twenty years

Fact - last 3 fights = current and the basis of this P4P?

Froch - Pascal ( Current World Champion a weight up) Jermain Taylor (FORMER UNDISPIUTED AND BEAT B-HOP TWICE!) and Dirrell.

Hatton - Malinaggi - fortunate to beat N'Dou and Herman Ngdogogogogouuuu - Lazcano past it light weight - and Pacman knocked him cold.

Hatton beat and old KT 100 years ago and was TROUNCHED by PBF.

Andrade is crap! And Beyer??? Beyer KNOCKED out by Glen Catley??? wasn't he?

Froch number 1 and thats all there is to it!

I am not trying to offend anyone with my rankings.

Gavin Rees has not beaten a significant opponent since he beat M'baye on the 21st July 2007. Since that fight Rogan has beaten: Ferguson, Dolan, Harrison and Skelton.

If Rees fights some decent opposition then he can climb the rankings. I am not sure whether I will count his PrizeFighter fights though, as they are only over 3 rounds.

A dubious stoppage against Malignaggi?? Are you having a laugh?? His corner threw in the towel after ten one sided rounds. Dubious stoppage, indeed.

Classic.
Corner threw in the towel, because he was not going to win, not because he was in any more trouble than at any other point in the fight!

Watch the blooody clip!

HE WAS NOT ON THE VERGE OF A KNOCK OUT!

I am right, you need to go and hydrate yourself....Carbo!

Ian Napa was the European champion earlier this year, and has just won his old British title back from Gary Davies. He is also still the number one domestic fighter from Bantamweight and under.

Napa has better wins on his record than Mitchell does, and he also has better wins than Booth has since Napa beat Booth. There are not twenty fighters below Napa that deserve to be above him. Napa has lost a fight recently, but he is still one of our best domestic fighters.

Kevin Mitchell has not beaten anyone decent since beating Walter Estrada over a year ago. If fighters immediately below him get good wins then they are going to overtake him, just like Napa did.

Hatton is currently rated above Froch on the World P4P forum rankings. I doubt that he will be voted above Hatton based on his win over Dirrell.

My ranking of Hatton above Froch is a reasonable position to take, so I don't think that I will lose too much credibility over this decision.

I don't take drugs.

Overall Hatton's resume is better: Tszyu, Maussa, Collazo, Urango, Castillo, Lazcano and Malignaggi.

Froch's is less solid: Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell.

Froch has some very good wins, but he has not shown that he can keep winning at this level like Hatton showed he could.

Froch struggled with Dirrell. Perhaps a Light Welterweight version of Dirrell would give Hatton trouble, but that sort of thing hasn't happened to Hatton yet. The closest similar situation I can think of is Hatton vs Collazo, but Collazo was the Welterweight WBA champion and Dirrell was a fairly unproven Super Middleweight contender.

Taylor Still a force ( beat B-HOP TWICE and had only lost to PAVLIK!!!).
Pascal Still a force - was undefeated!
Dirrell Still a force - was undefeated!

Castillo was SHOT
Lazcano was SHOT
Collazo 'did Hatton win??? - plus he was schooled by Mosley WHO WAS NOT HOT AT THE TIME!
Urango? Purleasseeeeeeeeee!!!
KT OLD!!!
Maliganaggio - best known for losing to Cotto!

CURRENTLY FROCH IS SHOWING BETTER WINS THAN HATTON.

USE THE SAME CRITERIA YOU USE FOR HATTON THAT YOU USE FOR MITCHELL!

Shall I remind you what that is? Ok!!!

If the people below him get better wins than him they go above him!

Hatton - WINS - :Lazcano and Maligasnnaggggggi

Froch - Pascal - undefeated and now World Champ at lt heavy.

Taylor - Former undisputed and only man other then RJJ to beat Hopkins in the last 15 years??

Dirrell - undefeated Olympian!

Froch wins - anmd ALL in the last 7 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOD DAMN!!!

Hatton has been knocked out TWICE in recent times - bvt with you he gets credit for it?

HATTON AVOIDS slick FAST AMERICAN FIGHTERS - CORLEY - JUDAH - MITCHELL ETC

YES, HE TURNED DOWN FIGHTS WITHY THEM ALL - BUT HE WILL FIGHT YOU FOR THE MONEY - HE TURNED DOWN PBF FOR YEARS...FACT!!!!!

FROCH FIGHTS ANYONE!!!!!!!

A N Y O N E!!

HATTON STRUGGLED BADLY WITH COLLAZO AND WAS NEARLY STOPPED AND HURT SEVERAL TIMES.

OhYes:

Froch is number 1

Who has Pascal beaten? The best guy he has beaten is Diaconu for the WBC title and he wasn't really considered to be very good for a champion.

Taylor had only beaten a poor version of Lacy to show that he was a decent Super Middleweight, before fighting Froch. In his next fight after losing to Froch he gets knocked out by a Middleweight moving up a division. Taylor has now lost 4 of his last 5 fights.

Dirrell was an unproven prospect that gave Froch a tough fight that many thought he lost.
DG. wrote:Hatton - Malinaggi - fortunate to beat N'Dou and Herman Ngdogogogogouuuu - Lazcano past it light weight - and Pacman knocked him cold.

There are no Middleweights that are considered close to being the P4P number one though. Pavlik and Williams are the highest rated P4P fighters in the Middleweight division and they are not really close to being in Pacquiao's class.
