Re: MALONEY: BERNARD’S NOT DUNNE A DUSTED
Would love if this fight materialised. The bad blood between both camps has been well documented and it would definitely add a bit of spice to the match up. If it does go ahead my money will be on Dunne probably by points. I simply don't rate Munroe to be honest. He is good at European level but on the world stage against the likes of Caballero, Poonsawat and Nishioka, he will be destroyed. I think Moloney knows full well that this is the reality and that's why they want Dunne as he isn't on the same level as those mentioned. Having said that Dunne is still a high quality fighter but his chin is downfall. I don't think Munroe has the ability to KO Dunne, despite his glass chin, and there is no way in hell he has any hope of outpointing Dunne. Sure to be a decent fight if it happens. Would love to see Dunne rise again to challenge for another world title.

Im confused why is there no way in hell Munroe wins this fight on points ?ImElvis666 wrote:Would love if this fight materialised. If anything i think this is the most likely outcome .

munroe to ko dunne late on. when munroe actually throws power punches instead of arm punches he has a bit of power. only takes a clip on the chin for dunne to go downmark thompson wrote:Im confused why is there no way in hell Munroe wins this fight on points ?ImElvis666 wrote:Would love if this fight materialised. Because Dunne is a far superior boxer. The only way Munroe can win is by KO. Are you trying to tell me Munroe will outbox Dunne?mark thompson wrote:Im confused why is there no way in hell Munroe wins this fight on points ?ImElvis666 wrote:Would love if this fight materialised. Jimmy Magee doesn't have a clue about boxing god bless him. When Dunne went down for the first time against Poonsawat, I think Magee said he slippedMarcMero wrote:
lol, i love dunne fans. the great boxer dunne couldn't outbox martinez like munroe did? oh wait, jimmy magee says dunne is the best boxer on the planet, so obviously he's better than munroe
I still think Dunne could nick it against Munroe but it would be very tight.

"If this fight goes the distance I'll be very surprised".
After 5 rounds unheralded Francis Jones had knocked Neil Sinclair half out of the ring.

My favourite is from the World Cup 2002 match between Spain and Slovenia, just after Spain scored their third goal "if you had of given Slovenia a 3-1 defeat before the game, they would have taken it"

Well worked out,
Thats exactly what im telling you, Dunne to win the 1st 3-4 rounds, then once Munroe has the measure of him
he would take control and win a comfortable UD in my opinion
Re: MALONEY: BERNARD’S NOT DUNNE A DUSTED
The 2 guys that KOed Dunne are well known big punchers. His chin is suspect but not non existant unless it has been cracked for good. Before the loses I think the only guy to really hurt him was Voronin at the end of a 10 rounder, and then of course Cordoba who also has respectable power.
I don't see Munroe stopping Dunne with one punch like those guys did, he just doesn't have the concussive power they do. If he stops Dunne it will be by accumulation but I don't think he lands often enough to do that and Dunne takes it on UD if his chin is still there at all.

Re: MALONEY: BERNARD’S NOT DUNNE A DUSTED
Poonsawat is not really a big puncher. He has decent power, but the majority of his stoppages are over weak opposition. The way Dunne absolutely crumbled after one shot indicates some serious chin issues to me, and along with his trips to the canvas against average punching Cordoba and Martinez is I personally think its safe to say he can't hold his shots. I don't think his chin can still be there when he never had one in the first place.Cannibal wrote:The 2 guys that KOed Dunne are well known big punchers. I used to be confident Dunne would take this, but now it is 50/50 for me.

Well we will have to agree to disagree in that case. I can see Dunne counter punching him all night long.

Stop putting words in my mouth. Where did I say Dunne was great? He is quality but not world class. He is still a better boxer than Munroe. Dunne got caught cold by Kiko. What's your point? I have already admitted he has a glass jaw but I still think Munroe does not have the ability to put him down or outbox him. Dunne could lose to any decent fighter that packs a punch and that is why he is not world class. Luckily for Dunne, Munroe has little power and is limited offensively. So because Munroe beat a boxer Dunne lost to that makes him a better fighter?
Styles make fights.
Everybody knows Jimmy Magee is a joke when it comes to boxing commentary. He is good for a chuckle but that's about it.

you are funny. does yuro voronin have more power than Munroe?MarcMero wrote:ImElvis666 wrote:lol, i love dunne fans. the great boxer dunne couldn't outbox martinez like munroe did? oh wait, jimmy magee says dunne is the best boxer on the planet, so obviously he's better than munroeStop putting words in my mouth. Its funny seeing the munroe fans talk crap because they think munroe is such a good fighter when he isn't, he maybe European champion but Dunne was a World Champion and even though he was beaten by Kiko once in the first round he improved greatly since that defeat and so has Amir Khan when he got KO'ed by Prescott. When it comes down to it they are both tall super bantamweights but Dunne is a much better fighter and is going to pick Munroe apart for 12 rounds
