i'm torn between both points of view.

on the one hand who does mayweather think he is. :x

on the other it's an unfortunate rumour that has gathered pace against pac just recently.

a part of me thinks pac should tell em where to get off. :>

another part of me thinks pac should take the blood test and prove any lingering doubters he's completely clean.

i think the fight will happen.

just a bump in the road. :box:

charlieb wrote:There are already rules in place that govern this, but they aren't good enough for Floyd?

Who on earth does he think he is? I had Floyd pegged to outbox Manny, but I don't think he fancies the job. Manny shouldn't agree to the demand, he certainly doesn't need Mayweather's scalp as badly as Mayweather needs his! For me it's Floyd who looks bad here, not Manny, why should he agree to rules that no other fighter needs to adhere to just for the privelage of fighting Mayweather?

Mayweather can pull this crap with a guy like Paul Williams or someone who would walk through fire to get him in a ring, but he doesn't have the clout here, he's fighting a man who trumped his best wins with consumate ease and overtook him by beating Cotto.

Mayweather should be on bended knee to get this thing signed and sealed but instead he's asking for the sport's existing rules to be altered before he'll agree to fight. I don't think it's mind games, I don't think he wants the fight, I think he's scared that Manny's the fighter who'll find that family chin.
Everyone knows boxing's doping system is a joke and can be easily manipulated. There have been a lot of rumours about Pacquiao which so far have no evidence but if he is clean he should have no problem taking the test, this scared of needles and blood rubbish doesn't buy in my opinion.

From Mayweather's point of view I think he is correct to ask for the test if there are rumours floating around the boxing world. Who would want to fight a boxer who is gaining an illegal advantage by being 'juiced'? It is giving Pacquiao an opportunity to squash any rumours that he is dirty. If this fight doesn't go ahead because of this episode I know who I will be blaming and it won't be the unbeaten one!

Most Asians prefer to get tattooed using bamboo rather than needles anyway, so him having a new tattoo doesn't automatically mean he's ok with needles.

floyd mayweather - a disgrace to the sport of boxing

fed up with his sh.it.....he doesnt want the fight plain and simple.

he calls himself a fighter??? , its just aswell roberto duran , henry armstrong and pernell whitaker are not around in their prime at the moment - these guys fought everybody , no hesitation , no sh.it - they are real fighters

floyd if you or any of your arselickers are looking in - who will you fight if you collapse this mega fight??? - answer : nobody , you have run out of fighting smaller men who were past their prime.

you will need to retire , and good riddance , who made you the king of the olympic doping society??? , there is a guy here in pacman that many think have the tools to beat you and what happens , YOU CHICKEN OUT

$25M-$45M will be your purse if you have the guts to fight manny - you aint making that with anybody else , and to be honest so will many , but he has far many more options as he will fight the best , you handpick your opponents

pacman is the star - you are now the guy who will be known as a coward who ran away from this fight

boxing is a sport for real men , gladiators , warriors , floyd you aint any 1 of them , go away and retire , YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED.

mayweather doesnt make the rules , the nevada state althletic commission do......

manny has never failed a test before
mayweather has never asked a fighter before to do this
if manny follows the nevada state rules then he has done nothing wrong - mayweather has no right to ask the commission

mayweather doesnt want the fight - plain and simple

to doubt the commissions drug tests procedure , which mayweather is doing , is a disgrace.

MAYWEATHER SHOULD BE TESTED FOR THE HUMAN FORM OF BULLSHIT DISEASE

What makes you so sure Manny is clean? As many people have pointed out, if he's got nothing to hide.....

We all thought Margarito was a warrior after the Cotto victory only for him to be out-ed as a cheating **** a few months later.

Out of interest, if Pac refuses to take the test or does take it and then gets battered by PBF in a one-sided beatdown, where does this leave Cotto? The only two defeats on his record would be questionable.

Interesting.

getting a tatoo has nothing to do with needles phobia.
I have needles phobia and I faint almost everytime I get blood drawn. Yet I have a big tatoo and although it did hurt a lot, it never felt anything like having a needle inserted inside my veins and pumping the blood out of me.

what a joke of a thread mayweather has made it clear before this fight was made that he thinks pacman may have taken illegal substances hes not asking alot how hard would it be for pacman to give blood, mayweather wants a fair fight and if pacman takes the test mayweather will have no excuses win or lose, im not quite sure who you think you are to call someone like mayweather a joke but if pacman comes back positive for banned substances your going to look a fool and if not the fight will go ahead no1 can lose by him taking the test so why not take it?

I don`t see why Pacman wouldn`t take the tests .. if it shows all clear then thats gonna frighten Floyd even worse..

It does look suspicious how Manny has moved up through the weights and looked so devastating it must be said.

And it must be corrected - but, Henry Armstrong certainly did avoid certain boxers during his title reigns.

FloJo never got caught cheating but she stopped competing when the IOC announced random drugs tests.

The NEvada Boxing commisions drugs testing have been a joke for a long time, many many obvious drugs cheats got away with cheating for a long time, Shane Mosley being an obvious example the Nevada commision failed to catch.

Love him or hate him, Mayweather is actually doing a service for a sport and random drugs tests should be done for all title fights

If Pacquaio's clean he should take the test, if he doesnt take the test hes as guilty as sin. The fight will happen either way, if he wins will avoiding drug tests it will be surrounded in controversy

Hes damn right, look how many drugs cheats fall through the net time and again, take a look at the obvious heavyweight Roiders, the likes of Shane Mosley that passed drugs tests etc etc

Roach on Sky Sports New now!!

He's saying he thinks it's a way of Floyd getting out of the fight!! Strong words. He says Mayweather has hired a company to do the tests and they include several piss and blood tests including one blood test a day before the fight which Freddy Roach says is unacceptable and HE wont allow it.

Also makes the point taht he has no problem with drug tests and will go along with any commission drug rules - decent argument IMO.

Nice to hear from the hosres mouth rather than 3rd party quotes from Golden Boy.

Moderators, stop fcuking merging people's threads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big fights need to be discussed from many different angles, it builds the fcuking hype, dont you get that?????. We are hardly being inundated with Mayweather/Pacquiao threads so why the need to merge/mash everything into this one?????? It just ruins the original thread plus the new thread and makes it all an incoherent mish mash of postings.

To add to that, your pissing of the user of this forum who posted the thread, and your also pissing of those people who took the time to reply to it, or like me now, your pissing of the people who typed out a reply, only by the time they clicked 'submit' find its no longer there!

For christ sake, cant we be allowed more than just one thread on the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight???? You's are fcuking ruining this place IMO! Stop wasting good forum users time with your merging bullsh*t
