Its a hard fight for Scott Lawton - certainly up against it.
However - it will be a good pay day in front of quite a few fans - Lawton sells a lot of tickets to Stoke fans.

Good luck to Scott, really hope he pulls it off, but I just can't see it happening. Kirakosyan is a dangerous fecker at this level.

Tempting fate, 36-year-old Captain Kirk looks a bit battle-weary to me and has struggled to budge his last three opponents.

Like Scott, seems a nice guy. his local "fans" however are cretins of the highest order.

Good luck to the lad, but there are too many fighters not up to it who get nominated for British and EBU belts these days. Like the alphabet gang, I am beginning to think they are only bothered about sanction fees and filling their coffers

lol at all the scousers saying derry was beating Lawton. yeah, apart from the fact that Derry nearly folded in two every time he got hit to the body

Rubbish fight. A one-sided beat down and people wonder where boxing is going wrong!

Need we look any further than this as to why he got his title chance? (plus what coco said on page 1)
His opponent has 5 wins sinse losing his title, but these are against fighters who... look very.... verryy..... average.
Their records:
6-40-0
1-28-1
13-8-2
0-5-0
34-31-4
So, a former champ who has worked his way through 5 journeymen.
Lawton may well win this, if he gets it right.
That said, gut feeling is that this ends up being changed, pulled, postponed or whatever.

Unless the Hatton's know something and the Russian is shot it will be a one-sided fight

The Hatton's have done well picking opponents so far e.g. Macklin's euro shot, so who knows maybe the word is that Kiryakosian or whatever hes called is shot. If Leva can stir up anything like the power he had to get Johansson out of there then Lawton will get beat up imo.

i think he was on the way down before choi
i wasnt at the lawton fight but a few mates where they said derry was out boxing lawton and it was his punch resistance that let him down, derry peaked against foster an probably should of gone up in weight after the marsh fight
I was there reporting on the fight for the13thround, and Matthews wasn't outboxing Lawton. Derry simply took the first round while Lawton warmed up, but after that it was Lawton who seemed more in control of the contest.
Couple tight'ish rounds after that, but whilst Lawton was more and more finding a groove Matthews was falling away, before badly wilting and getting tee'd off on till the referee dived in.
