I hope Carls loyalty does not hit him too hard in the pocket

I think Carl is in a stronger position than some think. He is the champion, after all, and Showtime will have a final say in this. What can Sauerland actually do if he refuses to fight in Herning?
It is in their interests that the tournament gets as much worldwide coverage as it can, not just for Kessler, but because they believe Arthur Abraham will win it. Taking the fight to Herning is one big step to getting the fight ignored.

They haven't created it - the others backing out have created it.
All of their dates for this season were allocated ages ago.
At that time, Hennessey had his deal with ITV.
Sadly they have dropped him and it seems never to turn back.
Stop blaming Sky for this.
It's not their fault that Hennessey didn't secure TV rights for the Super Six.
I'm sure that if Sky had approached Hennessey or visa versa whilst he was in contract with ITV they'd have been delighted
That's what a Promotor is paid to do.
Sadly on this occasion the Promotor has failed.
I really feel for Hennessey - but if the boot was on the other foot do you think Mick would give a toss about another Promotor ? No.
Carl can be on Sky at the drop of a hat.
It just means he has to jump ship.
That won't happen he's a loyal lad - so sorry guys we all have to live with it.
Poxy Primetime or what ever.
Good post.
It just highlights what a shambles the coverage of boxing is in on tv in Britain.

I am a Sky subscriber. I have ever right to demand value for money for the £50 odd quid I hand them every month. McAllister v some African I have never heard of is not value. Froch is available, they should buy it to give subscribers like me value for money.
Sky Sports have 4 channels, for which they charge a fortune. Right now (8.30pm Wednesday...ie primetime). SS1 has a bunch of blokes staring at TV screens reading out football scores, SS2 has Australian football (no lie), SS3 has a rugby league magazine show, SS4 has Transworld Sport (a worldwide magazine show that used to be shown at 7am on channel 4 so it must be cheap).
So, no live sport of any kind. And this is their idea of value for money???
It is not their divine right to get my money. But Sky only bother to invest in their PPV coverage of boxing, which they know they will get a huge profit from, which is why they deserve every bit of criticism they get.

Do you reckon sky would buy the super six if Froch was with another promotor? I think the super six would do well on sky.

Grow up Gobbles.
Your subscription is for a SPORTS Channel, not a BOXING Channel.
Your problem if all you watch is boxing.

I don't understand what your point is at all.

What, so boxing isn't a sport? So people who buy it to watch cricket or rugby league should not complain if their sport gets overlooked for football or whatever cheap stuff Sky wants to put on? Because it's a sports channel, not a cricket or rugby league channel.

I don't expect to see non-stop boxing, I just expect better class boxing for my investment. ESPN is a sport channel, but it doesn't show boxing so I don't subscribe. If Sky's level of boxing does not improve, they risk losing the people who have it for boxing. Because I'm certainly not interested in all their boring football coverage.

Of course, we could just all be subservient.

I ditched Sky Sports a while ago because of their poor boxing coverage.
People dropping their subscriptions and letting Sky no why is the only hope of them taking boxing seriously again.
Even FW has been vocal recently, complaining that all he gets are Friday night slots which make the show hard to sell.

Setanta made a good fist of their boxing coverage, shame they went down the pan.

to me setanta is a big loss to boxing , we might have seen a big raise in profile of some domestic and international fighters , just from the support setanta gave them . Im sure theyd have signed the super 6 in an instant
