Its a strange old game! I've seen home fighters get battered from post to post and only get stopped when they are cleaned out and I've seen away fighters get stopped for taking one good shot. I remember watching Yassine el maachi battering a 13-0 Kevin Conception at York Hall, I was thinking when is the ref going to stop this! There was a double or nothing purse in that one for El Maachi after he had a bet with Frank Maloney. Anyway I'm not complaining about my stoppage last night, the ref Howard Foster is a good ref in my opinion and with a first name like Howard he has to be a good one
I always found if you cover up going backwards/leaning on the ropes, without throwing stuff back you always give a ref an excuse to stop it, whereas if you do the same thing coming forwards you nearly always get away with it.

Sounds like you were a bit unlucky on Friday, Howard. Do you know when you are fighting again?

ps I thought you said you were going to go down to cruiserweight at one stage. I see you weighed in at over 16 stone for Friday's fight so I'm guessing that you're planning to stay at heavyweight now. Either way, good luck, Howard.
Thanks mate, yeah I was thinking about trying my hand at cruiser-weight but my coach thinks I should stay at heavy and just make myself a better heavyweight ie loose fat and gain muscle. He is going to set me a diet plan and a weights program to develop my fast twitch muscle. I might end up at cruiser but I'm not pre-occupied with it now.

Hya mate, yeah did see a bit of a kick off during the second fight I think it was. A lad got kicked out after throwing a punch at someone. Funny thing was on the way back we stopped at a services and A van full of gypsies turned up and one of the lads starts talking to us saying "Have you just come from the boxing?" He told us he got kicked out after "knocking someone out" which was a load of shite because no-one got knocked out that night either inside or outside the ring. He then asked me if I knew how John Anthony got on because that's who he gone to watch. I told him he won and it was me he fought.

haha i saw the truoble i dont like it at boxing when stuff kicks off because its not fair on the fighters and families that go and watch the shows but in this case it was quiete funny a few starting kicking off a couple off punches were thrown and then next minute out of nowhere a kid folded one off the chairs and clouted a kid over head with it was like something out of wwf lol but all in it was a good night and i enjoyed!!
