Thanks everyone for the good luck messages, it was a very frustrating fight Anthony weighed in at 14st6 and was giving away over 2st so fair play to him. I was fit and strong but couldn't work like I wanted to because he was constantly holding. He would throw a couple of hay-makers and then hold, I was looking to the ref hoping he would warn him or maybe even take a point of him so he would stop holding then I could get to work but it never came. Looking back on it I should have ragged him off me and roughed him up a bit. I was bigger and stronger than him and could have done. Lesson learned anyway, the last round was the clincher it had been even up till that point then about a minute in I slipped on a wet patch near my corner just as a punch landed on me. The ref ruled it as a knock down which I protested but it was the ref's call so that's that. Then with about 30 secs to go Anthony came on strong and a couple of his hay-makers got through. I covered up and blocked a couple more on my arms then the ref stopped it thinking I was hurt. He has a job to do I suppose and as long as no one gets hurt he goes home happy. The main thing I learn't from tonight is in future I will try and make people not want to hold me, I'll make it very uncomfortable and tiring for them and if I can throw them off I will rather than look to the ref for help. Because as long as two heavyweights are clinching then no one is throwing bombs and no one is likely to get hurt. I have no criticism of my opponent or the ref. Anthony used the tactics that won him the fight hit and hold and the ref had my welfare in mind. There were positives from the fight and I learned from it. If I was losing and not developing I'd be having a rethink about whether boxing was for me but I am happy that I'm improving.

Mmmmm I was there Howard and to be fair not a great fight and alot of holding between the 2 of you, the knockdown was a little harsh but i thought the stoppage was fair to be honest although would have liked to see it go the distance... All the same well done H..

I'm sure it was fair but I just wasn't hurt. Thanks anyway Jonny and your right it wasn't a great fight due to the holding. You might have seen me holding my arms up a lot and looking to the ref hoping he would do something about it. I got told of by my coach after for that he said it was very amateur and ref wasn't there to help me. Like I said I learnt from it.

The Ibbotson stoppage of Scott was probably the most premature stoppage i have ever seen. And the same ref let other fights go with much harder shots landing.I also thought the decion to only give James Tucker a draw was baffling

Its a strange old game! I've seen home fighters get battered from post to post and only get stopped when they are cleaned out and I've seen away fighters get stopped for taking one good shot. I remember watching Yassine el maachi battering a 13-0 Kevin Conception at York Hall, I was thinking when is the ref going to stop this! There was a double or nothing purse in that one for El Maachi after he had a bet with Frank Maloney. Anyway I'm not complaining about my stoppage last night, the ref Howard Foster is a good ref in my opinion and with a first name like Howard he has to be a good one

I thought your stoppage was fair, but you were taking a lot bigger shots than Scott got stopped with throughout the fight. And by the same ref!I would love to know why he stopped it.Scotts legs never even went and he had proved earlier in the fight he could take Ibbotsons best shots.Must say though,Ibbotson was well in control and boxed well

I spoke to Scotts corner on the way out and they said they were going to pull him out at the end of the round. I know there was a long talk between the ref and the corner before the start of the round

Hya mate, yeah did see a bit of a kick off during the second fight I think it was. A lad got kicked out after throwing a punch at someone. Funny thing was on the way back we stopped at a services and A van full of gypsies turned up and one of the lads starts talking to us saying "Have you just come from the boxing?" He told us he got kicked out after "knocking someone out" which was a load of shite because no-one got knocked out that night either inside or outside the ring. He then asked me if I knew how John Anthony got on because that's who he gone to watch. I told him he won and it was me he fought.
