impossible as the boxing board of control is restricted as to the amount of rounds a boxer is allowed to compete in in one evening.

I think it gets a bit boring because of Skys habbit of repeating everything in over dramatic ways but in general it's good fun tv and don't think it should be taken as being a very serious level. It is a good way of prospects getting to fight decent level fighters early and it is a chance for older boxers to use it as a stepping stone to better things as like a last chance saloon.

I do agree that the heavy weight classes started off as being the better value but as time has gone on more and more boxers have worked out ways of winning prizefighter fights without wasting too much energy so now I think the lighter weight comps will be more interesting.

It will need a international element to it soon though as the popularity will go down soon.

How can something have run its course if you are still entertained by it?

I find it entertaining in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

I would like to see a Super-Bantam/Featherweight/Super-Featherweight Prize fighter....Some of the guys in all them different weights can bang a bit and we would probably see alot more knockdowns or knockouts on the night.......Think it could be alot more exciting than the heavier weights.....

Couldn't agree less. Too frequent maybe but we've got what we waited years for, the best taking on the best. No more standard points wins over journeymen. How many shows do you go to where the winners come from the same corner 90% of the time? I'm guessing lots. We've finally got a format where all boxers want to win.

Well, yes it's good that the fights are well-matched, and the fighters want to win...but you see this at most amateur shows. In terms of Pro boxing (in which no title is less than 10 rounds) it doesn't mean that much.

I mean the amount of space Boxingnews give it is way over the top - it's fun but deserves no more than one page either way.

To your point about tha format where all the boxers want to win and is well-matched....surely the answer is to get pro boxing in general to pull its socks up and make the good matches, not some halfway house between pro boxing / amteur boxing / toughman competitio?
