Yawn, if you want to pretend the Yuri Romanov/Stefano Zoff fight was razor thin in order to make your point then there's no point talking with you. I have the fight on DVD and Romanov visibly rocks Zoff multiple occasions.
as for the Valero fight.... mmm, getting savagely knocked out does tend to negatively affect ones career when they're 34, 35 years old. Maybe that's why Thaxton had an easier time with him? Who the eff knows? They both won in the same round, but Romanov totally wasted Thatxon.
Just admit you fiercely defend any fighter that's British for apparently no other reason that they're British.
YURI ROMANOV, WHERE ART THOU?
Re: YURI ROMANOV, WHERE ART THOU?
No offence, mate, but it's too late in the day for me to read all that without getting bored.
Re: YURI ROMANOV, WHERE ART THOU?
Settle down, lad. If it wasn't late afternoon then I would probably reply with a longer than yours post, but I have been working on a computer all day, and my concentration levels are very low, mate.
Re: YURI ROMANOV, WHERE ART THOU?
Like I said, my concentration levels are shot, matey.

romanov was horrid vs zoff, and didn't look anything like a world class fighter that night. maybe he was sick (flu?), maybe it was the opponent (a spoiler). maybe a guy as well rated as romanov should have been dealing with guys like that more efficiently.
romanov is a good fighter. if he had his career guided like many british fighters, then he'd be closing in on a world title like kevin mitchell. probably would have already. he's had the tough fights in tough places, sometimes not at ideal times. but that's good, as we can see what he can and can't do. he didn't like it when zoff stood up to him, and he couldn't sustain his attacks against the spoiling opponent. he was great vs thaxton, but who else was he so great against? surely we've all seen that he has the power, the precision, the technical skills. but also his lack of height, reach, and foot speed have been a problem for him. also he's had problems sustaining a fast pace, when he cannot KO the opponent.
