Re: Khan v Mayweather early 2011 !

I think khan is a special fighter...but mayweather is 1 of a kind, mayweather late stoppage or points, i dont think it will be a shut out by pbf tho.
At least give a link mate. What's the point of us all making comments on a thread that may be just BS. Your post seems to be contradicting what Khan and his team have saying in the last week or so. I have heard Khan and Schaefer both saying that they are planning for Khan to fight Maidana followed by the winner of Bradley/Alexander and then possibly considering a fight with Mayweather in Late-ish 2011 (around October) if the Pacquiao fight cannot be made. I've not heard anywhere about Khan wanting to fight Mayweather in Spring next year before the chance of a unification fight with the winner of Bradley/Alexander. After seeing Khan destroy Maidana later this year and if he performs well and unifies against the other LWW champs then in about 9 months time it would be more realistic to discuss Khan's chances against Floyd, who is getting older and his personal problems aren't helping him too much. If Khan performs really well in his next couple of fights I'd fancy his chances against a possibly deteriorating Mayweather but there are just too many ifs and buts to be worrying about it right now. However, like some of you have already said, Floyd should be fighting Pacquiao, Williams etc. and not picking someone who has recently moved up to LWW from Lightweight.jessi wrote:According to BS.com If khan wins in december and mayweather overcomes his legal issues richard schaefer of golden boy is going to try his hardest to make the fight happen in spring next year, its a fight that doesnt need bob arum as the middle man and could be quite easy to make, i think khan could make a good fight of it and although he will be a big underdog could spring an upset ! there must be more chance of this happening than mayweather/pacman.
That is the definitely correct order of doing things but the OP has said a fight with Mayweather is being lined up for next 'SPRING'. If that was the case then Khan would not be able to fight the winner of Bradley/Alexander before fighting Floyd!lefty wrote:I was always under the impression that if khan beat maidana he'll be fighting the winner of bradley vs alexander and if he won that then he'd fight mayweather?!

Thats what i remember Richard Scaefher saying though,he said he wanted to build khan up into a legitimate pay per view superstar and to do that Khan would have to beat Maidana and then the winner of bradley/alexander!Im not sure they could sell khan as a major attraction in the states with just the win over maidana! Also Mayweather wouldnt take the risk unless the money to be made would be very substantial and at this moment in time khan isnt a big enough name in america!gizmo1 wrote:That is the definitely correct order of doing things but the OP has said a fight with Mayweather is being lined up for next 'SPRING'. Even if he does, he accuracy, Power & timing are not as good as Floyd's!McCannW14 wrote:Does anyone on here think that Khan might actually have faster hands than Mayweather? I think its possible.

Yes, a boxer wanting to prove himself against the best, total madness.boxingchat wrote:Typical Golden Boy match up. Could'nt build anything with bucket of effing Lego.
If Khan falls for this he must be a complete fool and is putting himself in serious danger. He won't see a fraction of the dough Hatton earned for the same match becauise he doesn't have the following or public adulation the 'Cokehead' had, Id he takes it he is gambling with not only his career but his health. Total madness.
So what's your take on Chisora v Wlad then??boxingchat wrote:Typical Golden Boy match up. Could'nt build anything with bucket of effing Lego.

shot. presumably we should also add that Khan would be fighting a blownup superfeatherweight, inactive non-puncher, on the wrong side of 30, toooliverfennell wrote:Yes, a boxer wanting to prove himself against the best, total madness.boxingchat wrote:Typical Golden Boy match up.
