He did get dropped in his only defeat though, so your second sentence is not accurate.

Audley is nothing more than an average puncher, but Haye does have a poor chin. However, he has fought smart in his last two bouts, and I don't think Audley will connect with anything meaningful.

18 stone of lean bodyweight with a bit of athletic snap....sounds dangerous enough to me but landing it on an all-guns-blazing David Haye and keeping him on the canvas is something I'll have to see before I believe.

Having seen audley live I just couldn't believe how scared he looks when someone throws a punch at him!! I think his power is irrelevant because he's unlike to throw any left hands because haye will ko him within the first minute.

It's not necessarily Hayes power it's the speed and auds just hasnt been in with anything like it before.

I'm no fan of Harrison but lost respect for Haye for taking this fight - and the subsequent silly comments he's made. My initial thoughts were - this'll be over in 2 rounds - but I genuinely believe Harrison has a puncher's chance. I don't believe his left hand is anything special but i think if - IF - it lands cleanly on Haye's suspect chin Haye will get sparked! Haye looks like a cruiserweight in the pics and video footage I've seen of him recently - he'll probably come in at about 215lbs tops - Harrison's probably the most mobile, athletic, hard hitting big man he's fought - can he stand up to a genuine heavyweight who's not past it or a lumbering mess?(Valuev) Don't write Harrison off just yet...

If you believe the answer is 'yes', you either know little about boxing or are, in fact, Audley himself.

It doesn't take a genius to work out who the puncher is in this fight.
Dominic Guinn would have lasted mate.

Nothing in boxing is as straight-forward as that. For a start, you have to consider career stage. Of course those guys wouldn't last with the current Haye, but Krence vs a 4-0 (as Harrison was) Haye? Or Negus against a 5-0 Haye? Quite possibly, or even probably.

McCafferty and Francis were known survivors. Possibly Haye could have stopped them, but it wouldn't have been a certainty. Don't forget, even Herbie Hide, who we'd probably put in a similar bracket to Haye in terms of power, took seven rounds to stop McCafferty, who finished on his feet. If that was a six-rounder (as Harrison's fight with McCafferty was), then Hide too would have had to settle for a decision.

Also against Francis, as well as Draskovic, Harrison deliberately went the distance for the purpose of testing himself in what were uncharted distances for him at the time.

And also consider the styles. Even if Haye could stop most/all of those guys, the way he fights would have a lot to do with it. Harrison is often overly cautious. Not that I'm excusing him for that, but obviously there have been times he could have scored a stoppage, but didn't.

I don't see Harrison as a big puncher and I think the issue of Haye's chin is really overplayed. Fact is over his career he has been wobbled, dazed and gassed but never KOd. No way Audley, who is already moving backwards when throwing most of his shots, is going to knock him out.

Naz, Trinidad, Benn - all had unreliable chins, how many times did you see them sparked? I think we'll find the same to be the case with Haye. For me lack of stamina will ultimately be his undoing, but not on this night.

Naz unreliable chin!!???

Erm no.

KD's he suffered v Kelley were a balance thing and Augie Sanchez was a huge puncher and Naz stood up to him!!

Also took plenty of MAB

Dodgy balance yes, chin definitely not

:bag:

Not all the knockdowns he suffered against Kelly were soley due to his poor balance, but it did play a factor in him going down. At worst he had an average chin, imo.

Most heavyweights have success if they land cleanly with a decent shot, just as Audrey did against Sprott.

why oh why has no so called professional boxing.trainer taught Audrey how to jab. He has all of the physical attributes but does not use them. It's like a big fire cracker with a wet fuse. Totally useless. Unless he gets very very lucky.

naz had a great chin :!: because when he got caught his chin would be up with his mouth open yet he ate them up good

If we're getting technical about it Haye's problem tends to be with temple shots.

if someone throws and connects well any Haye or Klit fight will be 50/50 imo

Audley is usually poor with combos

he will look for the one punch

if he lands..who knows

im very exciting

But surely it comes down to the chances of landing that punch? Very few of Klitschkos fights are 50/50 because he makes it so hard for anybody to do anything against him. Yes he could get KOd by a big shot but that doesn't make it a 50/50 fight.

But on the other hand there is a chance that one of these guys could have got lucky and flattened haye.

Im yet to see haye be sparked, he gets put down but he gets up quickly and recovers very fast (in seconds) so a normal punch isnt going to ko haye it may put him on his arse but thats about it.

However Audleys left imo would put any fighter on the planet down for the count if it connects cleanly at full pelt.

The odd on Harrison are now 4/1, as ive said before people are basing their oppinion of harrison winning on his potential rather than his mentality - will his balls shrink in the ring? my guess is yes. BUT theres always a chance that a switch has turned on in his head and if thats the case Big Aud would certainly be world class opposition.

In talent, yes......but in chin I would say Sprotyy has the better whiskers/

Also David is a very snall heavyweight

I said as much early doors - but it isn't quite as straightforward as that, is it. Haye may hit harder, but he also has one of the more fragile chins in the business, so Audrey gains a certain amount of effective power in comparison.

saying audley might have a chance because of his size is like saying Tye Fields might have had a chance against Joe Frazier

Sprott is hardly the biggest heavyweight himself. He was big enough to lay Audley out.

If Audley hits Haye flush or coming in with a left cross or an uppercut then David will really know about it. I think Haye is too fast and aggressive minded for Harrison who may go into his shell; he'll try to get to the later rounds and get stopped against the ropes ala Enzo.

Not quite but I get your point!

Fields and Harrison would be a pick em fight I think, whereas Frazier would decapitate Haye.

How we have all been suckered in by this farce is beyond me. The only sad but slightly redeeming factor is that the Klits have fought people on a par with Audley recently.

How much is big Aud making for this fight?? It just shows how marketing makes the dollars. I`d be suprised if they weren`t talking to each other on a daily basis, chuckling as they discuss how they have convinced the Uk that they are mortal enenies.

Agreed totally

I think Vince McMahon would blush and that's saying something. However, they missed a trick in my opinion. I think you need an obvious 'heel' to sell this kind of PPV and I think it has been absent in the buildup by and large

Wouldnt surprise if the sales for this aren't all that

As for the topic in hand

Audley knows he has to put it on the line so I expect him to look more like he did against Danny Williams 2. He is not a power puncher by definition but he can put Haye down so he does have a chance
