Got to love the balls Casey is showing here.

It's early days. Casey has a warm-up fight in December. He needs to do the full eight rounds in that fight, in my opinion.

I wouldn't say he is the pride of Limerick city.
Limerick is a prowd city and a lot of people in the city and county have no time for Willie or any of the Caseys.
I don't think dutchie meant to be disrespectful toward Willie. The Southill Casey Clan do have a very bad reputation in Limerick ie assault, murder, drugs (Willie's own brother got mixed up in the drugs and died). You couldn't blame for some people not wanting to support Willie, especially if they were at the wrong end of the Casey clan. Willie himself said he was unsure turning pro, he thought he would have no fans (probably for those reasons).ImElvis666 wrote:Those people are complete pudenda then. That Southill sounds like one hell of a place. If Willie Casey is setting a good example to the young then I say fair play to him; he deserves more good luck and victory. We all know of weaker willed people who see the easy buck; a few years on their back and they've taken the harder road. Best of luck to Casey and to J; Terrace Gaskin has long retired but his kin John Boy still fights and Yatesey is still bad to the bone (what would he have done on the better path?)FeargalóCuinneagáin wrote:I don't think dutchie meant to be disrespectful toward Willie. Willie however is no waster. He was the first in his family to do the Junior cert ( GCSE level in the UK I think), he went on to train as a welder. When I was in school in Limerick city most of the Southill lads left after the first year of secondary school. Willie was an example to his younger brother/sisters and some of them finished school. Willie is a rare success story to come out of Southill. Look at him now: going to be fighting at world level after 11 fights
. The man is polite, has charisma, attacking boxing style and ducks fvckin nobody. The vast majority of Limerick city folk are behind this man.

Southill mostly like this:simon fox wrote:That Southill sounds like one hell of a place. It wasn't directed at dutchie. It was directed at those people who dislike him because of his surname.FeargalóCuinneagáin wrote:I don't think dutchie meant to be disrespectful toward Willie. x2 there is a level between them in classTHEBUTCH wrote:I'm amazed any one gives Casey any chance at all. Only one result and that's a Rigondeaux win.
Full marks to Casey for stepping up.

Just Lourdes - it might need a week in Lourdes which is topped and tailed with a weekend in Knock and Medjugorje either side for good measure.gobbles wrote:I think you will need a trip to Lourdes for any hope of thatTed wrote:Holy sheet,

Rigondeaux just beat a former world champion in his 7th fight. that is class. Most fighters would have only just started six rounders in their 7th fight. Rigondeaux is, and always has been, class!! In his last fight, once he started to tire, he was able to get on his bike and barely got touched from the 8th round on. i think Rigondeaux stops Casey in around 4 or 5, but credit to Casey for taking it.Camcas wrote:Rigondeaux is extremelly overated id go for Casey in this one
