When I was in school in Limerick city most of the Southill lads left after the first year of secondary school. Willie was an example to his younger brother/sisters and some of them finished school. Willie is a rare success story to come out of Southill. Look at him now: going to be fighting at world level after 11 fights . The man is polite, has charisma, attacking boxing style and ducks fvckin nobody. The vast majority of Limerick city folk are behind this man.

That Southill sounds like one hell of a place. If Willie Casey is setting a good example to the young then I say fair play to him; he deserves more good luck and victory. We all know of weaker willed people who see the easy buck; a few years on their back and they've taken the harder road. Best of luck to Casey and to J; Terrace Gaskin has long retired but his kin John Boy still fights and Yatesey is still bad to the bone (what would he have done on the better path?)

It wasn't directed at dutchie. It was directed at those people who dislike him because of his surname.

Rigondeaux will be far to quick and accurate for casey, caseys biggest problem will be that Rigondeaux is a counter puncher and if he comes out swinging then he'll get picked apart all night, casey heart will make him come back stronger from this

Just Lourdes - it might need a week in Lourdes which is topped and tailed with a weekend in Knock and Medjugorje either side for good measure.

Rigondeaux just beat a former world champion in his 7th fight. that is class. Most fighters would have only just started six rounders in their 7th fight. Rigondeaux is, and always has been, class!! In his last fight, once he started to tire, he was able to get on his bike and barely got touched from the 8th round on. i think Rigondeaux stops Casey in around 4 or 5, but credit to Casey for taking it.

Its a real tough ask for Casey, but maybe his flies-on-shit approach could unhinge Rigo a little in the early going.

Saying that, the gulf in class appears massive.

Up Limerick

Hope it's super cold in Ireland come March; Rigondeaux hasn't a spare gram on him; the weight will not be so easy to shift over this side. Casey has got real stones; win or lose I have no doubt he'll do himself proud. Rigondeaux has to have some real miles on the clock; it could be a tasty fight.
