I think after a 6 rounder I would have him face anyone apart from Groves or Anderson becuase if he loses to another young prospect where could he go then?

Maybe a fight with Magee would be good if he don't step onto the world scene or fight Degale.

Middleweight seems his ideal weight but he don't look like he can make that either.

In terms of pull, do you think he could top the bill at the Echo again, and fill it? Or would it be on smaller bills now? Suppose it depends on the opponents. I really hope he can rebuild and come again.

yes i reckon he can still get loads of fans to the Echo

which is why i think FW will want to rebuild his career rather than let it fade away. he won't want Smigga to become a 'real gone kid' just yet. arf.

id see someone like paul david as an ideal next opponent for smith , god confidence booster ,paul david wouldnt be a push over but would imo be some way off smigga , in fact someone asked who the english champion , i have a feeling it may actually be him . after that maybe a sterner test on british level or move on to someone like asikainnen , a mw who is i think now campaigning at smw (correct me if im wrong ) wouldnt be an easy fight but definately be one id fancy smith in , that may put him in an automatic position for a euro eliminator , who knows

Groves is so open to the right, and showed against Anderson (and the Yank journeyman before that) that his whiskers may be slightly frail. Thought Anderson could have stopped Groves if he had more in the tank, and Smigga certainly has a good engine.

he had some success in the fight & never capitilised, his footwork was slow & he couldnt seem to step in & sustain attack's. degale is very athletic & even though standing over smith he can quickly step out of smith's range which left smith lost.
smith's counter's over the top are classy, but he has an inability to bob & weave his way through imo. if he remain's at s.middle he is a mediocre fighter. at middle he can still do somthing, he certainly wont get stopped like that there.

Smith's been beaten before and come back well, and there's certainly no shame in losing to DeGale. I'd like to see him go in against Quigers again. I think if Paul really wants it then he's beat Quigley convincingly this time.

if groves accepts then its degale v groves and maybe smigga will fight anderson, david or maybe even quiggers again??

one or two fights and we will see him headlining the echo again.

Smith should be well on the European scene. He's had over 30 fights, lost only 2. Why has it taken so long? No shame in losing to Degale, who is something special.
