Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
Re: Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
I guess we are asking too much to have Meehan vs Fury, Khan vs McCloskey on normal sky sports..... I guess they will cut it to a 2 hour show and have Munroe's fight live.

So do you suggest we stop watching TV, walk everywhere, don't take any holidays and have no social life whatsoever?MachoMan09 wrote:No it's not just boxing but you can apply the same reasoning to all the other things you mentioned.Hagler2002 wrote:Its not just PPV Boxing but is it? Its everything, the Premiership, fuel prices, beer etc etc.
Personally I don't mind spending £15 for a PPV it keeps me out of the pub and club where I'd be blowing a ton for the privilege of been ill as a dog all day Sunday.
Are you a manic depressive by any chance

Stop buying 3 dozen packs of Quavers then, mate.Hagler2002 wrote:Personally I don't mind spending £15 for a PPV it keeps me out of the pub and club where I'd be blowing a ton for the privilege of been ill as a dog all day Sunday.
BTW, your initial post is nonsensical. I wouldn't buy it out of principle. Thank heaven's it's not on PPV now.

Hows it nonsensical? Because I don't mind spending £15 on a PPV instead of going out on the drink.
I take it you're siding with the cheapskates regarding PPV?

Sky signalled the end of football for me
and boxing followed right after.
we had up to 18million watching on itv in the 80's 90's
promoters say they cant put good bills together without about 250k ppv subscriptions??!! bullsh*t

Re: Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
It's nonsensical because you don't seem to understand why people WON'T pay for PPVs when they think it's not worth it. Khan/McCloskey was never PPV, and was really never worthy of £15. That's been justified now because the biggest blood-suckers in Sky have even seen the light.Hagler2002 wrote:Hows it nonsensical? Principles and being a cheapskate are two different things in life.
Re: Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
And didn't you once put over a grand on Castillo beating Hatton? If so, it's quite obvious that you have money to throw around. You need to realise that people, me included, can't afford these seemingly monthly PPVs. You don't have to accept my reasoning, but God, if you don't understand them, then jeez.
Re: Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
meehan would have ko'd fury, thats why it didn't go ahead. the sky thing was just a fib imo.
i think fury's team realised meehan was too much of a step up atm and needed to save face.

Fury will fight anyone mate. THere's no ducking on his part. He's tried to fight Rahman and Botha and Chisora and has already fought fighters of a much higher standard than he needed to.buster007 wrote:meehan would have ko'd fury, thats why it didn't go ahead. the sky thing was just a fib imo.

Re: Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
Fair play, its nice to see them downgrade it an get some view. If it was khan bradley id pay or khan v anyone top tier but khan v mckloskey just is no way ppv without a seriously good undercard. This would have been one i wouldnt have bothered with. But will definatley watch it if its free.boxer70 wrote:Report in the Daily Mirror yesterday said that the show was no longer ppv and would be televised on Sky Sports 3.kingfinn wrote:so is this not on ppv anymore?

To be honest was this fight ever on ????????
Re: Fury-Rahman off and Fury off the card?
Kubrat Pulev and Robert Helenius to name some other HWs. If I was going to criticize Fury's opponents I would say that guys like Zeller, Power, and Nascimento had padded records. However, overall I do agree with your point--Fury has fought a higher level of opposition than most guys with similiar experience.keithmoonhangover wrote:2nd fight - Marcel Zeller 21-3-0Camcas wrote:Who has Fury fought of a high standard?keithmoonhangover wrote: Fury will fight anyone mate.
