If this remains a PPV - well it makes the Amir Khan "farce" (as described a certain promoter) look like a good promotion. It will stink of double standards by Sky. McCloskey vs Khan was AGREED by Sky as PPV worthy and that fight stayed on.

I was looking forward to this one far more than Groves vs Degale - Sky have done a remarkable job to hype that as an even money 50:50 fight - insinuating that Groves has his number and getting to Degale. Performance wise of late it would suggest a slight gulf in class.

Maybe if Clev wasn't already interim champ. It's rare (can't think of a time) that the title is declared vacant if there's already an interim champ, they usually just upgrade them.

He's pulled out because he sustained an eye injury 10 days ago and hoped it would heal but it hasn't.

They said all along that unless he fought he was gonna be stripped, based on his previous pull outs.

Yeah that’s why I think it woulda been better to let clev vs whoever to fight it out in the ring for the title rather than just awarding it to him….

Must be a strange psychological situation to be in to have all the build up focussing on winning the title…on ripping it away from the champ…only to have it awarded to you and your shot at the title turn into a defence of the title…

It really can be THE most frustrating sport in the world at times boxing can.

There ought to be some way of getting either a reduction on the ticket or a refund in the event of stuff like this happening as lots of people would have bought tickets to see that fight and while I'm sure there are terms and conditions which prevent any refund/reduction people are not getting what they originally paid for.

Am sure Warren won't give two hoots given that most of the tickets are already sold and many of the PPV's already bought but there should be some mechanism in place here to protect the fans.

I agree 100% but it is a British title fight, not a world title fight. We surely can't set the precedent that entertaining 50:50 British title fights are to be PPV?
