The Floyd vs Naz fight is definately one missed! Let's hope the Floyd vs Pacquiao fight doesn't go down the same road! I don't know if anybody in the past would have been equipped to deal with him. Boxing like most other sports has physically evolved making todays fighters alot more finely tuned than yesterdays. So i reckon the prime fighters of today would've had too much for the heroes of the past (especially Floyd).

Buncey, Aaron Pryor at his best at 140 would overwhelm Floyd's shoulder-rolling style, especially in a 15 round fight.

Floyd had enough trouble with Castillo and Hatton, but imagine a pace twice as fast and twice as relentless with punches coming from twice as many angles. Eventually, Pryor's shots would get through enough to stop Floyd in the 13th or 14th round. What do you reckon?

Yeah good call re Aaron Pryor, unstoppable in his prime, even SRL was wary of taking him on.

Why on earth people think Amir Khan has a chance against Floyd is astounding. Khan has done incredibly well since the Breidis Prescott fight but he is not capable of troubling Mayweather.

That was a great fight. Vargas will probably get the decision in his hometown.

Against Floyd? Currently, or during Floyd's reign, he took on everyone at 130, and although both Feitas and Casamayor would have pushed him, he would've beaten them both. Beating Castillo at 135 (or not, depending on how you scored those fights) proved he was number one there. I think that Tszyu would have beaten him at 140, and Cotto would've given him a serious argument, but that he'd ultimately have lost. Hatton would have also done better three years earlier and at 140. At 147 Margarito and Cotto and a younger, fresher Mosley would all have caused problems, but I think I'd have made Mayweather favourite in all.

Right now, I'd fancy Martinez to beat him at 154 -- but Floyd would never, ever fight him.

And that's the point: he hasn't fought any of these guys when he clearly could have. He's far too cautious, Mayweather, in his matchmaking. Pre-Castillo, his matchmaking was unimpeachable. Some criticise him for leaving 130 when Freitas and Casamayor had emerged as genuine superstars; however, that's mitigated by the fact he moved up to fight the strongest of the lightweight champions, and I trusted his team at the time when they said he just couldn't make the weight. Post Castillo, though, it's been one, unmitigated tale of caution and mismatch. At welter, he kicked off against Mitchell, who'd just been destroyed by Tszyu and had only recently moved to 147 himself. And his only excuse for leaving behind potentially threatening and stellar fights at 140 (Tszyu, Hatton and Cotto) was so he could have even more stellar and threatening fights against Margarito, Mosley and Judah. But he waited too long to fight Judah, who was always mentally damaged, and was beaten by the time he fought him, then took on Baldomir, and then studiously avoided Margarito and Mosley, using some of the lamest excuses going to avoid them. He left a 140 legacy of wins over Henry Brusels, Demarcus Corley and Arturo Gatti -- hardly a murders' row of fighters.

Dela Hoya was a genuine challenge, and I give him credit for that, but Hatton was not a legitimate welterweight, the Marquez fight was a joke, and Ortiz was a terrible mismatch. Meantime, no matter how you cut it, he avoided the best guys he could have fought at both 140 and 147.

I'm sure the Mayweather acolytes will come at me like a ton of bricks now, but I couldn't care, because a fact's a fact.

Whitaker-Mayweather would be a great fight! I would slightly favour Sweet Pea but it would be such a good fight! Duran at lightweight would of gave Mayweather real trouble

His record at those weights is poor, didn't want anything to do with Margarito and Cotto.... who he ought to have fought and dealt with handily.

It's difficult to rate him at welter because there's no standout wins. Judah lost to Baldomir, Baldomir lost to every good fighter he ever faced (Zab aside), Mosley was done, Ortiz lost to Maidana and drew with Peterson.

The likes of Leonard and Hearns would annihilate him, he'd do well to survive a round against Tommy, who's all wrong for him on every level, aside from being just a better fighter.
