Floyd's not as obvious, he tends to use it on the inside and is far more subtle. The problem is he couldnt adapt and cant fight on the inside so he couldnt do anything but push or hold peterson. He needs to study some PBF videos and learn to use floyds inside fighting techniques he's not the greatest of inside fighters but as Hatton said he is deceptively good, what he does is effective. If khan could fight even to a mediocre standard on the inside combined with his other attributes he would have blown Peterson away.

What did Lamont do with his head that is prohibited by the rules? Simply being rough and agressive and coming forward witth your head in front of the rest of your body is not illegal.

If a pro-peterson fan/team has gone to the trouble of making a video of Khan's 'fouls' then I would have thought Khan's side would have returned fire already with something but. tbh I didn't see much Peterson did wrong apart from lose the fight without deductions.

Agreed there's a massive difference between pushing someone down and pushing off to continue the fight..there's really no advantage in it in what Khan was doing.

If anything i think more Boxers should Push off rather then clinching which i think should be banned. Pushing off is a clean effective way to keep the action going, i can only think that the ref took offence because basically Khan is doing his job for him by breaking away clean and fighting on.

Personally that boxing video showed me that pushing off makes for good fights, beats ruiz style clinching we see in boxing nowadays.

It will impact on Khan's future fights, because opposition and refs will see it more than ever now.

I wasn't overly fussed about it, but use of the elbow was a bit nasty.

The video doesn't really show anything. Most of the pushes were when Peterson didn't stand back at a break.
What would be interesting would be if someone counted the number of pushes (and we are talking really minor pushes in most cases here (notably all the ones claimed are not shown in the video so they must be really minor)) in the Selby-Simpson fight. Because clearly no one has ever bothered counting before.
Glad to see low punching and going in with the head aren't fouls any more. Thanks Joe Cooper for tackling the real dirty fighting in boxing.

Watch the fight in whole and see. He lead with his head for most of the fight, much like Ward v Kessler, head out in front of front foot

So? While headbutting and ducking below and opponent's waist are illegal, having your head in front of your front foot isn't.

AMAZING VIDEO. Well not really. A bit lop sided in its viewpoint ie 'Lets make it show how bad Khan was and not focus on anything else...'.

It was a stylistic clash, from the off. One guy pressuring and crowding ala Ward and the other looking to maintain distance. So what we had was excessive 'pushing' by Khan and a fair bit of rough housing (hard low blows, head rubbing into Khan's and leaning in) by Peterson. To continually warn Khan and deduct 2 points from him and yet say very little, if anything to Peterson, was harsh.

The way to fight the likes of Peterson and Ward is not to back off and let them rumble into you, it's to stand your ground, push them back, hurt them. Khan tried this by literally 'pushing' Peterson off, in order to maintain distance and the fire his shots.

Next time he has to use a hard jab and actually be willing to stay inside and try to hurt Peterson, in order to discourage him. Hard left jab, hard body shots and uppercuts, in the early part then establish the range and rythm.

Easier said then done, of course. Peterson is a good fighter, a tough one.
