I just hope i can get a ticket for this. I know ebay touts will be selling these hot cakes at 6 or 7 times their face value, but their is no way I'm missing the fight of a lifetime.
They'll create a new pound for pound spot for the winner= position Zero #0 !
With the loser slotted into the #1 slot.

It must piss you off too knowing that its more than likely that Cleverly will be the only current UK fighter to be a world champion after Saturday night.......
No ones impressed with the opponent but at 24 years old, theres plenty of time for the big fights and everyone knows Cleverly is a work in progress.
Im looking forward to not spending 8-10 hours on a return coach trip to watch him fight!! :-)
Ricky Burns not count?
This is Fonfara's last bout:

He seemed pissed off that Spearman quit.

No not all.
I'd be far more pissed off if Froch called himself a world champ and then had his "homecoming" against some dreadful turd that hasnt even boxed 12 rounds.
It's better to fight the very best, than sit and home calling yourself a world champion and fighting utter bums like this guy.
It's ok, i know your hurting. Let out your steam on me, I can take it my dear.

Not unless you count Intrim titles...... He vacated his WBO belt to move up a weight and fight Katsidis for the Intrim WBO........
Personally I count interims as much as I count all the others...it's stupid but some of the interim champions are not only better than their "proper" counter part...but actually FIGHT in that division (hello Juan...who has gone a year with out fighting at Lightweight!)

Another GRAET rival for Cleverly. he won the title with an incredible rival, a polish guy, don't? Afeter he fought Bellew, not mandatory rival ( because his ranking i supose), and now this....!! what shit is doing WBO?¿and Natahn Cleverly?¿?¿ He wants to be n1 fighting that opponents?¿ Why he doesn't fight Shumenov, or Campillo, or Syllakh...or someone ranked in some organism!!!

I have to wonder how the WBO don't rank Sillahk to tell you the truth (then again neither does Steve Bunce

)...last weekend Eleider Alvarez won the WBO NABO title, hopefully he'll pop into the rankings when they next update as he's on a fast track to a title fight.

Disappointing opponent. I was hoping Clev's next bout would be against his mandatory Dimitri Sukhotsky, who is definitely a far more credible than Fonfara.

I remember reading a quote from Cleverly on ESPN website prior to the bellew fight and he said he only wanted another 5 or 6 fights before he retires, he also said in march of this year he would unify the titles by the end of 2011! I like watching Cleverly as he's exciting and comes to fight but his resume for a world champion is a joke (not ALL his own fault i know) and if he really wants to consider himself one he needs to step up the level of opposition quickly especially if, as he says, he's only 4 or 5 fights left in him.

Yes, the Boxing Scene story (well, looks like it's lifted in its entirety from the BBC) has changed too. Check the url below against the actual headline on the story:

maybe Fanfara has been lined up as a back up for a soon-to-be-announced legitimate opponent. Given Cleverlys experience with late pull outs, it might be a good idea, but probably best not to release it all over the internet if it's not accurate!

Also fonfara is listed on here as fighting this Friday which seems a little odd to announce him as an opponent

Last week (Thursday or Friday, I forget) there were supposed to be "six big fights announced in the next 48 hours".
:??

sooo, noone quite grasps that Cleverley is being fed bums because his management clearly has no faith in him. for good reason. allegedly...

I hoped for Shumenov next, as it's a fight that I believe Nathan would be more than capable of winning.
However, I think Allegedly is concerned about his lads having their heads turned having had his fingers burnt before - mainly because of match making like this.
He might be ranked in the top 15 but obviously isn't world class, or certainly not proven world class anyway.... if you call yourself world champion you've got to fight the best fighters available. Not just the weakest acceptable opponent on an ongoing basis.
Hatton might have retired undefeated had he stayed with Allegedly but his record post-Tszyu would have been full of the cliched opponents....
''Teak tough, from the same town as Azumah Nelson.....'' - he drives a taxi in Accra and started fighting after seeing Nelson vs Sanchez on YT a week ago.
''He's never been stopped.....'' - which generally means he's got a glass chin and fought bums all his life.

Also been announced on fwarrens website that World Champion (sic) Ricky Burns will be defending his title on 10th March in Glasgow against that worthy opponent TBA.
Does the Top 15 rule apply for Interim titles, or can literally anyone be dug up for this defence?

TBA is a busy lad when allegedly is concerned, at least he gets regular paydays

as for fonfara, who the fck is he? I live and breath boxing but I have never heard of him

No need to worry about him, they are trying to secure a deal with Shumenov. Doubtless be part of a string of consecutive unification fights that Clev has in an effort to establish himself as Light Heavy No 1.

I suppose at least the Welsh /Clev fans have the balls to admit it is a bad match up, if this were Bellew the rest of the forum would be bigging the lad up and justifying the match up.
Don't talk bollocks by bringing me into it! I've got nothing to do with it although I'd jump at this date and a rematch, I'm a better opponent than this Fanfara! I'm supposed to be the one coming off a loss and people are matching me tougher than there matching him! I'm asking for Gutchnekt! I'd learn nothing from flattening this unknown.. Clev will learn nothing from this either but hey that's up to them not me.. I hope it goes well for them all in Wales..
