I agree with Silkov here, Shavers I think could take a decent shot but his lack of defensive skill cuased him to get hit alot resulting in knockouts. He was the type of fighter who would go for the knockout or get knocked out.

Now as for as Ladoux being a top fighter today if that is true than the heavyweight division has sunk to a new low. Maybe thats why we are all here discussing boxers of the past. That would sure open up an opertunity for a heavyweight who wanted to get serious about the fight game.

Scott Ledoux or Serguei Lyakhovich who's the better fighter?

This is the big question in Boxing?

Thomas was totally shot against Tyson... no legs no reflexes hardly

thats ridiculous, i disagree. thomas was not far from his prime when he fought tyson. he demonstrated a good jab, and good movement in the tyson fight(i certainly didnt see any bad decline in his legs).

ive seen film of thomas at his peak and he was not that much different from the thomas of the tyson fight

You must have seen a different fight to me then... Thomas was well past it against Tyson... have you seen him in his prime fights??...

Both men were simular weights with 'The Big Cat' having a slight height and reach advantage but not much.

These were two muscular fighters with devestating KO power, who could be KO'd themselves.

This is most likely down to who land first, I feel that this would be be Williams, if he used his jab to catch Shavers comming in to stun him then move in with heavy hooks, but it realy could have gone either way?

What do you think fight fans?
Shavers was KO'd by every big puncher he faced. Williams was much faster. With two shaky-chinned sluggers like this, you go with the one who lands first. In this case, Williams.
Shavers beat Sims, Norton, Tiger Williams who were all big punchers.... he was caught cold by Quarry and run out of gas against Stander and Lyle rather than losing because of a weak chin... I've seen Shavers take too many punches and not go over for him to have a really weak chin...

All three gents had power, yes. But all were second-tier punchers. I don't classify them with the big bangers

Tiger Williams was a tremendous puncher, so was Sims... Norton koed Quarry among others... where is you evidence that Shavers had a weak chin?... just because he was beaten by Lyle and Quarry???...
