Vann's a top ref, no bullshit. Will love him to throw Don Charles' towel out while Chisora's taking a beating HAHAHA!SteveDow wrote:http://news.boxrec.com/news/2012/hayema ... ickey-vann
I see that the Haye team have refused to allow Micky Vann to referee the contest on the grounds that he is too old and too small to referee a wild fight.
Does the size of the referee really matter? I mean as long as he is a competent referee it should not really be an issue as finding a referee big enough to separate two guys of this size from engaging in a bit of afters if they really wanted to would surely be impossible anyway.
Haye and Booth reject Micky Vann

I've seen Mickey still ref on the Irish scene and to be honest he is still the best the Europe has to offer.
Plus it would be worth it just to watch him glide around the ring in those high-waist, fitted, personalised trouser again!

Didn't Paul Thomas ref the Hatton v Thaxton bout?twenty six wrote:Insider,
Think you mean the WBU years ?
Of course team Haye are gonna object to Mickey boy.
He refereed a high proportion of Bunny's headline fights and well, let's just say he was a homer.
In the early Hatton years of serious cuts he always found a way of letting the fight go on !
Justice for Ramsay and Thaxton !!!! Both fights should have been stoppped !!!!![]()
I don't agree with the fight but if it were to fall by the wayside now well boxing would slump further into the abyss.
Dalcumly has mentioned a few indicators that maybe all is not well.
So we need a 6' 5'' refereee who is semi retired and does not give a fook if he gets suspended. Answers on a postcard ....

Joe Louis was one of the most dignified heavyweights of all time AND he used to ref fights in the 70s. Thus i propose they do what Coachella did with Tupac recently and beam in a Joe Louis hologram to referee proceedings.
Re: Haye and Booth reject Micky Vann
cant they just get one of the US refs in like smoger, he was reffing that european prizefighter type show i forget its name.
