That could happen if he wins, draws, whatever. Something completely outside of boxing could well cause him to fall of the wagon. I hope not, but alchoholism is a very delicate thing.

Agree people are crazy to write Murray off, but Harrison wants the short cut back to the top, if he does loose he can just say it was a step to far to quick and come back abit more gradual after, his age doesn't give him much of a choice really to being fast tracked, I still believe it's a 50/50 fight !

If a loss will send Harrison back to the bottle (IF!) then it has to happen at some point. What do people want him to do, fight a bum every time until he is 90!?!

he didn't seem to mind doing that in his 'first' boxing career, let me see now, featherweights on the scene Barrera Morales Marquez, featherweights he actually fought, Manuel Medina in his 95th failed attempt to gain a wortld title, ummm the fistic great Victor Polo, ummm, some bloke called Chacon?

This is madness on Harrison's part.

Regardless of how hard he's trained in the past few months, or how hard he's going to train in the build-up to the fight, Harrison simply isnt going to have the necessary conditioning to last 10 full, hard competitive rounds.

people can say "who has scott fought", but a closer look at murrays record isnt that impressive either. its all domestics and a few europatsys. he gets too much credit cos hes tough and brave. its hardly like hes hard to find and he tends to make every fight a life or death battle lately. marks up REALLY easy and doesnt live the life.

also, seeing as they have sparred together, maybe scott feels he simply has his number or knows something we dont.

obv. just playing devils advocate, we wont know untill scott gets hit will we? That 10 year old boy he beat told us nothing. I can see it being a classic.

If Scott has got it this fight will tell us - he's gone beyond being able to be 'built up'. At this stage its a great opportunity for him and a good fight.

If he takes a shelling for 4 or 5 rounds pull him out. No waste in seeing what he's got.

Murray - brave, likeable but just shy of world class and certainly not a monster.

I agree. If Harrison and his team think he's ready and its worth the gamble, this is a fast track to bigger fights and pay days. As I've said in earlier posts, I think Harrison should have had at least another 2 fights before taking this huge step up in class. The fact that most people think Murray is on the slide and Harrison is still much of an unknown quantity make this fight all the more exciting. This has fight of the year written all over it while it lasts. I wouldn't bet on either man outright but ill be staking big on it not going the distance. Really looking forward to this promotion.

This is a six round fight, tops. Harrison has the better resume and will bust John up. I'll put money on it.

Seconded. One swallow doesn't make her my girlfriend. And one half decent performance in his comeabck fight doesn't mean Harrison is anywhere near the fighter he was.

Harrison was always a class act in the ring but with his time out and abuse, a warm up against a teenage, Bulgarian novice is not enough to even get back into top domestic class, Murray will need to have slipped badly for the Scot to win

I imagine Murray will batter Harrison, 1 fight in 7 years and hardly clean leaving. Scott might do ok for a couple of rounds but will surely lose big.

Either way IMO ricky beats both,as I've said Before none of the UK lightweight are in the same leauge has Ricky Burns,I know it's hard for some people to accept but it's true!

Really cant see How Mithcell beats burns
Cant see him catching him with anything meanifull to stop him or regular to outwork him , Burns long range jab and body hooks will be catching him all night i think.

only time can really see burns getting hit is when he sits on ropes with gaurd up and mitchell maybe get through with odd straight right when doubled up , but burns doesnt give much away even when on the ropes

Still its going to be some night

I agree, even with Billy who would have you believe Burns would beat a prime Ali! Burns has too many minerals for Kev, i suspect.
