We have tried for the fight twice now, but they don't want it and I know why, but I do like him has a fighter, skillful, entertaining and good for the sport, not the finished article yet though.
Why don't they want it ?

Nasser would stop Erick Ochieng in the later rounds, after out boxing him, but would be a quality fight and that's why they would not take it.

Thought that's what you might say, just wanted to confirm it, I agree it would be a quality fight if it happens, I noticed Jamie cox was 4th in the division, that's quite high considering his inactivity, would you fight him next ?

I will always watch him, my type of fighter, I hope they don't push him to fast, because he can still get better.

Jamie Cox is back now, his got to be worth a spot in the top 4, remember he was once thought of as the fighter to beat Kel Brook, Nasser has sparred many times with Jamie and even stayed at his house when sparring with him in Swindon, they are good friends and respect each other as fighters, it's difficult to fight friends, but with good fighters eventually they share the same plains.

Yes I do remember talk of cox fighting brook, that was a couple of years ago and although Jamie has had his problems the fight was never close to happening, Jamie was a great amateur to watch, he use to try to punch holes in people, I'm still confident he can succeed as a pro if he wants it enough !

Yes Jessi, your right, Jamie wanted it, but he was a big welter and had to move up to light middle, where he punches lot harder, I think the fact that Warren managed both of them was part of the reason it never happened as well, would have been a great fight.

Guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we stick to the title of the thread. Its not always Saf's fault but someone always mentions him and the whole thread gets ruined discussing everything else apart from the original thread. Eddie Hearn twittered Brian Rose today calling him out for Erick Ochieng in LION VS EAGLE!

And you need to wash your mouth out, so full of anger and stupid to boot, Rose should not have fought Noble in the first place for the English title, firstly Max Maxwell should have fought for the English title and fighting a journeyman for a title is bull shit, I gave him credit for beating Prince Arron, you must read the positive comments as well, instead of being attracted to negative comments like a mouth to a flame, Now tell me do you believe Rose is the best Light middle in Britain ? Think about it first, instead of rushing in without thinking, like a Bull in a china shop.

Boxing news had Lee Noble winning the fight that is a fact
Exactly, and Rose was given the title, when he should have gone to the back of the list, after the Maxwell defeat.

Not my fault, I was sticking to the subject and Rose is linked to Ochieng, but some people get all nasty for nothing, then get upset when answered back. fights are about styles and Ochieng has the style to beat Rose, as long as he does not fight in straight lines, because Rose is very good working off the jab, hope the fight comes off.

There is no way he is going to Ghana, none at all, I know promoters in Ghana, no one will be able to finance it, most shows cost between 3 and 7 thousand pounds to put on, complete shows and they struggle with them, in fact without sponsors they have no shows at all, tickets sales and tv bring very little and Jamie cox's purse would be around 15,000 pounds alone, trust me it can't happen, winning purse bids and carrying the fights out are two different things, besides Eddie Hearn wants a commonwealth and British title shot for Ochieng and what a big promoter wants, he usually gets, Ochieng was calling out Cox and Rose, why would he do that, if it was unlikely, so far Ochieng has defended his title against a journeyman in Lowe, who gave him trouble in the later rounds and Toms who was stopped in the first round against a none puncher and the very basic Toms gave Ochieng real problems last night before the body shots got to him, amazing how Rose was avoiding serious challengers when English champion and not fighting Ochieng to get a shot at the British title, now Ochieng is doing the same. The whole national picture in this country is a joke, find the easiest way to win a title then get easy defenses until you get to fight for a bigger title, then repeat the process or even better don't defend your title just sit on it till you get a better one. No wonder nobody wants to watch boxing anymore.
Well said mate.

Was a travesty Nasser (or even Ball to be fair) weren't considered for English title defences by Ochieng's team.

But neither have Flash Eddie behind them and both imo would give Ochieng a lot harder fight than he's had so far so wasn't going to happen.

Too true Saturday Kid, I bumped into Jamie Ball at Nasser's fight last saturday, we had a chat, he is still looking to get a title shot and he congratulated me on Nasser's performance in Italy, nice lad, we also shared changing rooms with Shaun Cooper and his team, great guy and a nice team, Jamie is a tough lad and he stopped Lowe with a body shot for the midlands area title, so yes, he deserves a shot at a title, he took the fight with Nasser, when others would not.

That's what I have always thought, when he is on top he looks good, but when things start to go against him he looks delicate, though he has improved a lot, something is not quite right, for a British champion that is worrying, Webb is the same as well, so can see Rose winning that one, both of them were dropped by Max Maxwell, both have been knocked out, both have been able call themselves british champions, no way they are the best 2 in the division.

ah, right, I remember that now, that was the one on the froch - Bute undercard that I couldn't be bothered to drive up to Nottingham in time for. sad, I normally try and do all the undercard fights but that night's did nothing for me.

Naj, I agree something about Rose and Webb strikes me as quite similar.
