Looks like it's Murray.
Purdy-Jones / Barker-Hope / Murray-Rees. Very good bill IF it all comes off

Murray's not official W arren's not signed off on it yet and after Hear rejecting all of W arrens proposals i wouldn't be so sure the fight happens

Sky are reporting it's murray. Rees wins a cracker in my opinion, much too skilful and John wouldn't be able to take advantage of Rees slowing down at the midway point. He'll try and march him down and probably be made to look about as nimble as the robot in Logan's run when doing so. Would be a shame if something stopped it from happening.

Interesting to see if the EBU title is on the line. Remembering that the EBU stated that they no fighter coming off a bad defeat is allowed to fight for their title.

Rees has vacated Ebu and will have to vacate British as Gethin is mandatory and hasn't agreed to step aside so Gethin will fight for the vacant British should W arren allow the Murray fight to take place

Is Mitchell vs Gethin likely for the vacant British title if Rees vacates?

Can see a spanner being thrown in the works so that the Rees-Murray fight doesn't happen. If it did I quite fancy a recharged Murray to win.

Rees must feel a bit discouraged his world title chance hasnt materialised. Wouldnt suprise me if he was under motivated. Wouldnt mind hearing from the man himself on it.
I think gavin has the ability to make murray look a plodder if he reigns in his thirst for a fight.

I think Sykes is more likely imo i can't see Mitchell wanting to go back down to domestic level although a busy year would do wonders for his career in the long term

I can see Rees's next fight possibly being for an Intercontinental or International title. Mr Hearn does seem to work his fighters towards World titles via this method. Get them one of those kinds of titles thus getting them ranked with that organisation, and then defend that title to work their way further up those rankings eventually getting them to a stage where they are fighting eliminators.
I think the European title is better than the International/Intercontinental route in that you rise more than 1 set of rankings with each defence.

If Mitchell thinks he is too good for the British title then he is a complete tit.

Bad move for John if this is happens been a fan of his for a long time and don't want to see him get destroyed again. He hasn't fought since December and his last 2 fights have been bad beatings he should have a good 2 fights to get confidence back before stepping in with Gavin.
Just read this on Skys website.
http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/news/1 ... December-8
Also Eddies legal advisors are also talking to the WBA as they beleive the WBA Belt should not be on the line when Abril next fights as by their rules ranked fighters no1 and no2 Gavin Rees should fight for the vacant belt.
