TV fvcks all of our fighters up. He's been a pro less time than Price and had the same amount of fights(ish). Blame Sky

I blame both,if the fighters really want to fight then they shouldn't even be asking what they are getting per fight the manager should just phone them up tell them he has a fight for them then they say yes/no money shouldn't come into it at the early stage of a boxers career,but because of sky tv and other failed tv stations money is the first thing the fighter and manager think of. we should go back a few years and look at the 60's 70's were fighters didnt need 4-6 months to promote a fight,if khan was fighting brook or froch was fighting cleverley why would it need promoting over that length of time? we all know who they are and know it would be a good fight to see so no need for the 6 month lay off of fighters

Has it not gone full circle though and we are starting to have a bit of that again: Eubank, Carson and Yafai for example.

The thing is there's nothing wrong with them fighting on the TV at the rate they are, getting paid decently for it and fighting non-TV events inbetween. They'll still make a little more money than they do now! Even if they fight a nobody inbetween it's still experience. For example, What harm what it have to Price if he fough McDermott, Joe Bloggs, Sexton, Joe Bloggs, Harrison? None. Lewis had double the fights at this stage and not everyone he fought was Muhammad bloody Ali

Lottery funding of £30k tax free.

Add to that all training, physio, acommodation, flights etc. paid for (and no trainer / manager / promoter to pay).

These lads/girls also probably get sponsored cars and other sponsorship - in total they are probably better off financially than 90% of British Pro's.

Maximum lottery funding is £27,000. But you have to win a gold medal to get that.

Has this been reduced? Its just that I have heard of a couple of ams who beat that without a medal. Perhaps the figures I understood included the cost of the whole package.
