a win over Casamayor and a 'win' over Mayweather are not hallmarks of a B fighter. Diaz was a b fighter, Castillo kicked his ass.
personally i think Saad over-rates Castillo a little, but you can't bend the stick too far in the other direction

I didn't even mention that Castillo been stopped on numerous occasions in his prime before even getting to Floyd. Castillo is overrated by those who want to see him as the great fighter that gave Floyd all he could handle. He was only a B fighter that gave Floyd all he could handle.[/quote]IKSRTFO wrote:All of your scenario's involve a post-prime Castillo. That's how you measure fighters?
Tommy Morrison never quit in a fight like Ali did against Larry Holmes.
A 147 pound Sugar ray leonard would be stopped by Michael Spinks!
Seriously, this post is a joke.
There was nothing weak about Castillo's era at Lightweight, that's what makes him greater than Camacho.
You didn't mention anything about Castillo's prime, your post was completely useless. Letter grades are equally useless, but whatever, if Castillo was a B, Camacho was a B-. At their very best, a fight between them would have been very close.

Castillo was stopped by bums before Floyd. BUMS. The best guy that Ko'd Castillo in his prime was Cesar Soto. If anyone shouldn't be in the HOF before Camacho, it's Castillo.

He was stopped on cuts, pudding. Any interest in talking about his actual prime? Hector was better pre-prime and post-prime, I'll give you that. I never said I'd vote for castillo, I said he was better than Camacho, he was.
And honestly, Hector wasn't any better post-prime. He just beat bums and took a pounding once ina while when he stepped up.

Re: Hector "Macho" Camacho
Castillo has a better 135 resume.
Johnston>Ramirez
Casa=Rosario
Castillo also had the Bazan and Lazcano victories plus Diaz.
I'll take that over Boza.
I wouldn't vote for either of them for the HOF.

See, this where we'll never agree.
No way do I think Johnston and Casamayor are better then Ramirez and Rosario.

How many threads are you going to bring me up in? You're the one starting all this shit. If I'm too cold hearted for you, don't talk to me. But for the love of God, stop crying about me in every thread. You're outing yourself as a useless pudendum. Seriously, you try and take the highroad..."Grow Up"..."Don't throw tantrums or insults". Take your own advice Rufus.HomicideHenry wrote:Is it just me or is Saad the most hard headed and cold hearted fan?

Evidently, that clears a lot up. Somehow my posting is bringing up memories of when the kids bullied him into a locker chanting Rufus the Doofus.Rover wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:How many threads are you going to bring me up in? Bleh.
Least I stepped into a ring, rather than talk about it. And before anyone criticizes that performance, I am going to be fighting soon enough and get that 1-1-0. So MAYBE I was a tad bit over zealous when it comes to Camacho. I admit it. But still, we're all grown men here, no need for school yard antics. I just found it (personally) disrespectful to use the language that was used in describing a Mayweather/Camacho fight, and Saad (imho) seriously over looking him. Anyways, I'm dropping the convo.

You're the one starting shit. By all means drop the bullshit. I've been in a ring too, big deal. Are you just dropping this conversation, or all of them? As for not liking my language, take your own advice and grow up.HomicideHenry wrote:Bleh.Least I stepped into a ring, rather than talk about it. J'Leon is a very good fighter. No shame at all in getting drubbed by him.

14-0-0 (8) now, and in with the Money Team. He's come a ways from our fight in Augusta. Like I tell people who criticize it, that's the difference between a street fighting man whose boxed local guys in smokers, and a man whose fought the worlds best.

Hector "Macho" Camacho, one of Puerto Rico's greatest fighters ever dies today at 50. His own mom adviced to pull the plug in front of his 3 children.

How is your having stepped in the ring relevant?HomicideHenry wrote:Bleh.Least I stepped into a ring, rather than talk about it. Re: Hector "Macho" Camacho
Mayweather and Camacho at 130lb would have been a hell of a fight....to say Mayweather would have handled him easily is ridiculous.
Now Camacho at lightweight handles the overrated Castillo easily.

Like I said earlier, not a hall of fame career but definitely a guy with hall of fame talent !! Speed, unreal balance, great chin. For all the antics with the entrances & such, Macho was all business in the ring. Just no discipline out of it. I enjoyed watching him. Made me smile often. Rest easy Macho.

Good post, and it's not like his induction would be outlandish like Gatti. I just wouldn't vote for him myself.wvboxer wrote:Like I said earlier, not a hall of fame career but definitely a guy with hall of fame talent !! Speed, unreal balance, great chin. My thoughts exactly. It wouldn't be as bad as McGuigan, either.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Good post, and it's not like his induction would be outlandish like Gatti.
