Fury's level of opposition has dropped this year. He will be ahead of Price again next month, but he needs to step up and fight better opposition next year.

I would still pick Fury to beat Price, but Price is catching up with Fury as far as his professional record/experience goes.
Finch wrote:Whilst I am a Price fan and don't like Fury, I'd be surprised if a win over Skelton changed your viewpoint and placed Price above Fury.
Skelton was a top 10 ranked British heavyweight and Price beat him easily. Price has had four good domestic level fights this year, so he has steadily moved up the rankings and just managed to overtake Fury who has had a relatively disappointing year opposition-wise.

Haskins and Selby should swap places. Other than that the list is fine.

I probably wouldn't have included him.

If he had got up and lost on points then I might have entered him at 20.

3 - I can't claim to be anthing more than an armchair fan, but seems that Fury has fought better oppos so far.
If Chisora was taken off Fury's record then it wouldn't look much better than Price's.

Fury got a good win against Johnson this month, but Price is meant to be facing Thompson next and I'd say that he is better than Johnson.

If Price beats Thompson, I'd still say Fury has the better record, but Price would have the better recent record. So Price is catching up.

Rose's opposition as British champion has been fairly weak.

If he beats Webb this month then he will enter the top 30.

Not in the top 30 thats for sure!!!
I think a loss over a fringe world class opponent in a fight in which he was 4 minutes away from a victory is better than some in the 30.

Take Rendall Munroe - outclassed against a prospect (not proven like Senchenko just yet) and without a meaningful in 2 and half years.
4 minutes away from a bit of hometown judging giving him victory you mean? Was all square on my card at the time of stoppage, with Hatton clearly blowing out of his arse.

Arguably "prospect" Scott Quigg was AS proven as Senchenko, who had fought next to nobody during his "title" run, then dropped the title to a high level gatekeeper in Paulie. I like Hatton but he would be nowhere near a top 30 list solely by losing to who had been shredded to bits on forums everywhere for being easy pickings for a title/ ducker/ fighting nobody.

Too early at the moment, he doesn't have enough significant wins.

If he beats Blackwell this month then he has a chance of entering, but I am not sure that will be enough either.

Firstly you seem to have Kevin Satchell above Frankie Gavin & Rendall Munroe who has operated at a much higher level for a long time, find that a strange one ? Then you have Carl Frampton sitting well above the likes of Darren Barker, Lee Selby, Gary Buckland, Lee Haskins and most surprisingly Martin Murray ? Ola afolabi, Andy Lee, David Haye, Amir Khan, Mathew Macklin, Dereck Chisora non of which hold a British Boxing Licence, so shouldn't be in the British rankings IMO. Gavin Rees deserves to be higher than 12th IMO. Also i think Billy Joe Saunders, Denton Vasell should be in there somewhere has should Brian Rose they have fought better opponents than Kevin Satchell who you have placed ? You also Have Lee Haskins All the way down in 24th place but Jamie McDonnell up in 10th ? Just my own opinion, wondered how you came to place the lads in there respective positions ?

Satchell looked impressive when stopping Paul Edwards for the Commonwealth and stopping Chris Edwards for the British title.

Munroe has just been beaten easily by Quigg and he hasn't had a good win in years. Gavin didn't look good against Witter.
Boxingcutsman wrote:Then you have Carl Frampton sitting well above the likes of Darren Barker, Lee Selby, Gary Buckland, Lee Haskins and most surprisingly Martin Murray ?
Frampton has just destroyed former world champion Molitor. Murray has just been treading water since his draw with Sturm over a year ago.

Barker has been inactive for over a year and he lost his last fight. Selby has only beaten Okine this year. Haskins has only had one fight in the last 12 months.

Holding a British boxing licence is not mandatory for entry into my list.
Boxingcutsman wrote:Gavin Rees deserves to be higher than 12th IMO.
His opposition hasn't really been very good over the last few years, so I think his current ranking is high enough.
Boxingcutsman wrote:Also i think Billy Joe Saunders, Denton Vasell should be in there somewhere has should Brian Rose they have fought better opponents than Kevin Satchell who you have placed ?
Vassell was inactive for over a year before he fought Heffron, so that has held him back. Satchell has been more impressive against his recent opposition than Rose or Saunders have been in my opinion.

Haskins hasn't done a great deal lately, so his ranking isn't very high. McDonnel was European champion for a couple of years and beat a few decent fighters, so he is quite high up in the rankings.
