Yafai is good now, but he will get better in the future. This is not a fight for 2012 - nor for 2013 for that matter.
:shame:
I agree way too early for yafai to get in with Jamie.. He is a cracking little prospect though I've loved watching him so far but when Jamie ko'ed him in sparring it was an heavy one
Thats sparring, not the real thing. Some fighters need the nerves of the 'fight' to perform and many a top fighter have been beat up in sprring by fighters less than them. Lets not forget that Yafai would have been a lot less mature then and being an amatuer boxer with McDonnell being a pro, yes? By coming here and saying more than once what supposedly happened in a spar shows your class....Or lack off
If the spar was actually 2 years ago than McDonnell would have been the European bantamweight champion for 9 months and Yafai a 21 year old amateur flyweight.

Kal is a great prospect i enjoy watching him develop.... lets see what hes going to be like when hes getting hit back over the distance.. matchroom are doing a great job matching him at the minute i think he is a great looking prospect but that jumping the gun him v Jamie whos a proven fighter

kal v hall would be a step to far at the mo IMO

like i say lets see what hes like when hes got someone with youth who will be hiiting him back over the distance doing 12 rounds is a job in its self never mind when someone at the same level is hitting you back

That is what he needs.

If he doesn't get a shot in the next 6 months then he will end up taking another fight to mark time and before you know it he will end up in a situation like Rendall Munroe or Jamie Moore.

What did those fighters have in common?

I agree it is too much of a jump ahead for a guy that has only 6 professional fights so far and it is practially chucking him in head first against a guy that is a former British, Commonwealth and European Champion who is meant to be on the verge of a IBF title shot.
