Richard Towers? Is he still injured?

Please no. Towers is atrocious.digzee wrote:Richard Towers? Is he still injured?
Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
He is and Del would ruin him, but at least he has a fairly high ranking in the European scene and an undefeated record for the casuals. I don't think it will be another big fight at this short notice.columbo wrote:Please no. Towers is atrocious.digzee wrote:Richard Towers? Is he still injured?
Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
Towers is more of an opponent for Price. Chisora should be aiming higher.
Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
In spite of the Fury farce, Del Boy's way above domestic level now.

Kevin Johnson has been saying he's in late negotiations to fight Chisora, now he's confirmed it on his twitter. :(

johnson would be a top fight if it happens.
Fury is apparently sparring Sprott...does that mean Charr may meet sprott on the Haye undercard...that would be good too

Why? He was losing against Scott until that ending. Can't see him ever beating the loser of Wlad-Povetekin or Haye-Fury.Karl Jade wrote:Yeah, I think he'll without doubt be European champ at some point.
Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
Most people's cards had it 3-2 Scott at the end of the 5th, and Chisora was clearly winning the 6th handily before catching Scott. I think he would have caught up with Scott in any event, who showed against Glazkov a tendency to fade late.mickey1975 wrote:Why? He was losing against Scott until that ending. I agree, though, that he hasn't got enough to win at world level - but European level should be within his grasp. He was robbed against Helenius after all, who was a decent European champ.

The difference is Del has already been knocked out. He's a limited plodder, going nowhere.GreenLightning wrote:You trollin mate? He gets loads of credit for going the distance with two injured fighters (Helenius and Klitschko), gets a pass for the Fury fight because he was out of shape and was behind on points when he managed to 'stop' an unhurt Scott.
Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
The stoppage was crap, yes, but Scott was hurt! He said as much in the post-fight interview, referring to Chisora's right hand as an 'equilibrium punch'.keithmoonhangover wrote:

Totally agree. If they bring in Kirk Johnson it will be laughable. The guy is ancient and was washed up years go. His capitulation against Wlad was embarrassing. I've just looked his record up, he's had one fight in the past seven years..... and that was over 3 years ago. This is SHOCKING match making, the guy is retired, they're just digging up a dead body. Why not go the whole hog and give Joe Bugner a call ?! Really hope this doesn't come off.Karl Jade wrote:Johnson's never been in a top fight in his life. That doesn't tell the full story though, does it?Karl Jade wrote: Sprott who was knocked out by Audley Harrison over 3 years ago in with Chisora.
Audley knocked him out in the last round, with a somewhat fortuitous punch. And there were many who thought Audley had it lost if he hadn't have knocked him out too.
Obviously, I'm not saying Sprott lays the smack down on Chisora. Chisora should win. But for an opponent at short-ish notice, Sprott has experience and would give Del Boy a decent fight before eventually losing.
Isn't that the sort of opponent Del is looking for at the moment?

Kevin Johnson would be the shittest opponent going! The guy just goes through motions and tries to survive more than he wins!

Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
He's beaten some decent opposition and is being moved along at the right speed. Yes he's limited, but he's got geniune world class power, which is something Chisora will never have. Chisora's got next to no movement, limited power and only trains we he feels like it. Mago would eat him alive.columbo wrote:Yeah but who has Abdusalamov beaten that is any good lets be honest?! Re: Who would you like to see Chisora fight on Sept 21?
Chisora has faced some of the best heavyweights in the world, he has shown that his limitations don't stop him competing at a high level. Abdusalamov hasn't shown that he can do anything against a top fighter yet.keithmoonhangover wrote:He's beaten some decent opposition and is being moved along at the right speed.
