no wonder billy nelson gets exasperated on here. dont you think nelson is well aware that harrison and burns are two completely diferent animals? and dont you think that burns and nelson will be monitoring the jaw situation down to the finest detail?jackukmma wrote:You can't be comparing Scott Harrison to Ricky Burns? If that's how serious your taking this fight it confirms my worries. It's not a normal situation or camp, any normal fight yes 5 weeks out might be fine but he's had his jaw smashed in 2 and a plate inserted. Surely as his coach you want that jaw testing before you go ahead with any fight rather than rush him into one regardless?billy nelson wrote:Try getting in a gym and learn what pros do mate,Scott Harrison for one only ever sparred three weeks before a fight never done him much harm!jackukmma wrote:The more news that comes out of burns camp the more worrying it gets. Fight by March 8th or lose the title, ok we aren't ready but let's fight on the 8th then. Who's putting Burns health 1st here? Surely you want his jaw in tip top condition before putting him back in there? He's not sparred yet and only this week he said he still has no feeling in his lower jaw. How are the bbboc licensing him to fight this soon?
Ricky will spar at least 5 weeks for this fight easily enough time
mohammed ali broke his jaw , and it never presented him with any problems taking shots. abraham the same. championship boxers are made of sterner stuff than footballers...if he was shitting himself about the thought of getting punched on the face, he wouldnt have been a boxer, never mind going ten rounds with a broken jaw aginst a world class hard nut like beltran!
