Last night was the latest in a succession of bad experiences I've had at bigger live events which could well mean I stay on my backside in front of Sky or allegedly from now on.

The riots (I use that term advisedly....these were full-on rucks reminiscent of old TV footage of Millwall v West Ham) were thankfully far away from my seat but the whole atmosphere at these shows can vary from very annoying to toxic. I was sandwiched between rows of lads who, while basically in good spirits and out to enjoy themselves, managed to very much annoy me the entire night. Once you've sung "unbelievable John Murr-eeee" for about ten minutes non-stop, you'd think something of our "higher species DNA" would kick in and tell you to change the tune...hmm, not with the retard sat behind me. He managed to maintain this output for what seemed like the majority of two solid hours. Which is quite impressive in some respects but not my idea of "Britain's Got Talent".
Invariably, these kind of tools pay very little attention to any bout other than the "big event" they've really turned up to see. Other than that, the arena is simply a different venue for their Saturday night imbibation excesses.
I've had similar experiences at the Liverpool Echo arena where the constant journeys to and from the bar for the drinking fans is a continual annoyance.

Oh, and finally, the only unbelievable thing about John Murr-eeee is how he has managed to get so far with an almost complete lack of head movement. I seriously worry for his post-boxing health due to the finishes he has suffered against Mitchell, Rios and now Crolla.

Alcohol is almost always the reason for disorder. The coke certainly doesnt help.

i agree there were loads pissed as a fart slumpped down but as soon as it kicked off there were up and about falling over into the fights

think its because there are people traped in the middle of the fights, it wasnt just 1 bloke next to another it was people in 1 block of seats running t another block and then fighting meaning people getting stuck in the middle

Will they look at re-banning alcohol in the arena, the amount of beer that got chucked was amazing

Safe working environment? They're thumping each other in the face, it doesn't get much more dangerous than having another man across the ring trying to knock you cold. Security can only break fights up, difficult to stop it from happening. Ban booze and people will either stop going, or get pissed before they go in, whatever happens, the combination of boozed up lads, possibly after a couple of lines, from different areas, is always a recipe for disaster, things start getting tribal and people think they can copy what's going on in the ring.

IMO they should stop selling booze after 8pm which is when they generally go on sky.

You go to boxing to watch boxing I dont need booze to enjoy it as long as the fights are good
