seemed to be lots of trouble tonight at MEN arena

Post by mahatma »

enjoyed tonights fights the crolla murray fight must be a contender for the fight of the year well done to both boys .From crowd reaction it looked as if it was kicking off regularly during the fights, amazes me how people pay several hunded pounds for ringside tickets and then watch fights in the crowd rather than the actual boxers- anyway hopefully it wasn't too bad good nights boxing.

They promoted it as United v City, chuck in Warrington providing Leeds and Burton with the travellers, it was bound to kick off, so many different allegiances in there, only needs a few words to be exchanged and it's going to go off.

No offence but if that's the best fight of 2014 I'll be glad when 2015 comes.

Kicking off in different areas at different times during the evening - I tried not to take much notice as I was enjoying the action but it was no doubt fuelled by alcohol . Lots of macho muppets about last night including one openly smoking a spliff unchallenged.
Drunken idiots galore spending more time at the bar and in the toilets than sat in their seats .
I was up and down like a new brides nightie !
Sad state of affairs IMO - puts me off attending the bigger shows in truth .

Yeah as above. Kicking off between Leeds & Mancs then a bit later some nonsense going off on the floor. Loads thrown out.

If all the trouble makers had a smoke it would have been a peaceful place.

Put 100 people in a room smoking weed and 100 drinking ale and I think we all know where the trouble would start. However, I'll wager the guy with a spliff wasn't a pot head, more likely a "lad" flexing his ladishness by showing he can do what he wants.

I think there's an argument to be made for drink not to be sold at shows and anyone who is too drunk beforehand doesn't get let in.

Its drink that makes these average Joes think they are big shots. Take away the drinks and the problem is solved.

Would affect the crowd significantly though wouldn't it? At Darts people drink and get rowdy but behave. I think it's as much to do with the testosterone filled boxing environment.

I knew there would be. As the great Brian Potter once said, "Never mix the roses"... A Leeds ticket seller on with the rival Manc clubs is a recipe for disaster. The Burton lot weren't involved. It's a rough venue. Seen hundreds of fights there(outside the ring).

The prob ain't the drink, it's Dannie's shoving the Colombian marching powder up there nose and that gives him a sense of invisibility

I wasn't there so i don't know, but I do know stick a few hundred Leeds boys in Manchester and there will be trouble. The rivalry is intense.

No need for the racism. I'll be at that one and, undercard permitting, can guarantee there will be less bother than on an average Manchester Arena night.

When the second brawl kicked off the Leeds lads had already been ejected. So nothing to do with them that time. The Huddersfield lot were next to me & not involved.

Hanrahan brought a few from Macclesfield & they were very well behaved.

I'm not prissy but there's no need for it; there's good and bad in every group of people.

There are some real arseholes any place there is a crowd, they are in the minority but when you throw in tribal allegiance and beer the numbers swell. 'Pikey' is not a nice term and it's only in fashion because of of the Guy Richie films, it'll be as unacceptable as 'paki' or 'person' in 20 years.

Paki is simply a short version of Pakistani. Same as Brit is short for British. I don't see how it is classed as racist, although I do appreciate that people seem to judge it that way.

In Australia they call Italians Wogs. They call Brits Pommies. Both are based on historical slights, yet only one is classed as racist.

Funny old world.

As for the trouble at the fight last night I have come to expect no less. They should make a rule that anyone caught fighting in the crowd will be taken into a back room and given a shallacking by a few proper hard cases.

If they knew this was the fate awaiting them, they might act like civilized cuunts instead of just cuunts.

Me and Diggler were sat just n the edge they were really pissed up but some people ran from some parts to others just to fight, i took a few pic. the floor chairs were picked up and used and one bent a crutch over a security blokes head. it wasnt just the men though saw one women carried out by 5 guys.

about 20 were booted out during the first fight of the night well before sky fights started
