How come every time I post someone will bring Barry or Brook into it?

Back to Frampton:

Whatever happened to Gerry Storey?

Besides Shane, aren't McGuigan's other 2 sons now involved?

So even if the pie is slightly smaller, Frampton's portion is bigger.

Frampton's stock is hot in Belfast at the moment and they can easily drag out having to fight Quigg or LSC for at least six months and blame it on the other party and have another two less risky fights in the mean time.
They've already blanked Rigo's offer. Shane McGuigan said he'd only got 2 or 3 fights left at super-bantam.
Maybe that's Kid's short cut to the top. No one else wants to fight either so could be a big chance for him.
Don't think there's any hurry with Barry - he's only just 24 and had limited amateur experience.

Every time I watch Barry he seems butt hurt with large French fries hanging from his shoulders. I don’t doubt his intentions are honourable with Carl although he most certainly has a vested interest in using Carl too build up Cyclone Promotions. I just wonder if the business side (financially) is more than he bargained for.

24 is a lot older than Naz was, and Rhodes. If the Ingles think he's good enough, they should go for it.

Don't know for sure obviously but maybe Kiko needs to remain active to get a sustainable income.

He was due to fight in London in July, but was ruled out with an ear injury, board doctor wouldn't sign off on the medical. There was a gap between fighting Martinez and then because of the change in promoter and TV channel, then he got married after Parodi and took a little bit of time off.

Naz was 7 years old when he started and Ryan was only 6. Barry didn't walk in the gym until he was 14. He showed his inexperience in the Dickens fight but is going to be some fighter.

Halling is a sky sports cheerleader who happen to work exclusively with matchroom. Not exactly the most neutral of observers.

Where this idea that Eddie did not want Ireland shows comes from? It looks like a gossip not based on reality. They take fights in every god forsaken corner of UK, Belfast seems like the most obvious place to go.

I think the Frampton team left Matchroom stable far too early, should have waited until a title and a worldwide recognition. Then perhaps even copromotional deal would have been possible. Did not it already hurt Framptons carrier?

There was the suggestion he didn't want to put on a show in Belfast last July, think it was something to do with the Twelfth and worries about trouble surrounding the event, so he tried to stick him on Luke Campbell's undercard, Frampton and his team saw that as a bit of an insult and decided to go it alone, after Hearn refused a co promotional deal.

:TU: Halling's chatting shite as usual, Frampton is in a difficult position right now, but he can earn well while he waits for a world title shot and unless the opponent's scared of fighting him, is far more likely to get a world champion over than Quigg.

Eddie afraid of troubles? LOL
I need some concrete evidence to believe that he would pass a lucrative prospect of putting shows in Ireland.

Belfast in July can be a volatile place, can very easily kick off, that many people in such a small area, mixed from both sides of the divide there is the potential for something to kick off that could easily spread. The police there would probably have reservations about a major show around that time.

Since the end of the Second World War, 9 shows have been put on in Belfast during July. 1 in 1946, 3 in 1947, 2 in 1951, 1 in 1954, 1 in 1967 and 1 in 2012. None of those were major shows, with the biggest titles on show being Irish title belts.

Even now? Thats a surprise to me. However if that's true then how can anyone blame Eddie. Anyway, one should ask him about this in one of those Kugans Q&As.

Seemingly it's starting to kick off more now with issues over flags being the main contentious point currently. I don't think it was the lack of a fight in Belfast that put them off, McGuigan and Frampton both know the score there, but Barry seemingly wanted more control promotionally and Hearn was unwilling to give it. Then he tried to put Carl on a debutants undercard, which didn't go down well and they jumped ship. Obviously Belfast was out, but I think they felt that he was worthy of higher billing than what he was being given.

It came from Eddie's mouth. At the time when Frampton moved away from Sky and onto B o x N a t I o n, all parties were releasing statements to explain their position and decision. There was a lot of point scoring going on. McGuigan was critical of the reluctance from Matchroom to build Frampton in Ireland. Eddie countered, explaining that it was true, and based on the costs to Sky of shipping their live broadcast unit over to Belfast. He wasn't saying it was impossible or would not happen, but he confirmed it was a problem for them. I guess the sums didn't add up for all parties. With hindsight, based on the crowds and atmosphere generated at Carl's last two fights, it was maybe not a wise decision. Back then, it may not have seemed very likely that Carl could become such a strong and popular home town fighter.

It seems a bit lame from Eddie. Sky have been broadcasting from Belfast for years. Much smaller shows than Frampton too.

Eddie Hearn seamed clearly unhappy loosing Frampton. The fact that he immediately signed Quigg shows that. Yes there were perhaps certain issues but all of them minor. Only major issue there was copromotion. So I still believe it was a mistake mostly from Frampton side. Time will tell.

I think it's working out fine for Frampton so far. He's by far the bigger star in Ireland than Quigg is here.

I suspect you are right there. Given the backing of sky and its exclusive nature, Eddie probably wants the whole cake to himself in terms of promotional/managerial rights and probably thought it was fine to let Carl slip through his fingers. If you're Eddie, you would think of yourself as the only game in town. The momentum Carl has now got, and the incredible home support and packed houses, is perhaps something Eddie didn't envisage. Plus, you have to think about the need to send out a clear message; if you split the deal over one fighter, then all the others will want the same before joining matchroom.

That did seem a bit weird with the excuse about the costs, a 9,000 sellout crowd should cover those easily. I can understand not wanting to put on a show in Belfast in July, but why not Dublin? Can get around the same attendance and by now Frampton's a big enough star that he could sell outside Belfast.
