Chagaev is a joke retire

The guy is 36 and has only lost twice - once against the best heavyweight in the world, once against the second best heavyweight in the world. He has been knocked down once in his entire professional career, against Wladimir Klitschko who he took nine full rounds. Against Povetkin he put up a very good fight. He has fought six times in the last three years, winning all his fights including his latest against Fres Oquendo - a tough opponent for any heavyweight (not including Wlad).

Well, Cunningham was a multiple time Cruiserweight world champ so he definitely was a world beater! But I understand you mean at heavyweight ... Although he did just beat Amir Mansour, knocking him down in the process and is in excellent shape.

Chagaev looked appalling vs Oquendo in his last fight and was lucky to win IMO, one of the judges had it a draw.

If Fury doesn't lose his mandatory spot, then this would be a great fight for him to take to add another belt to his growing collection. I can't see anything other than a one sided beating and late stoppage if the same Chagaev turns up as did vs Oquendo. A prime Chagaev would have been a different proposition, but he looked well past his prime recently.

I think Fury would have to be crazy to risk a Klitschko payday to fight against Pulev. Fury is that close, people Wlad to fight him. He should have a low-risk tune-up fight to make sure he doesn't gather rust.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. The Inter tiltle is clear, it's a preliminary stage step to the title short of the referanced association of all those four organisations. However the vacant and interim titles are not clear, because WK is still the title holder. I think it's the matter of making money.

I could see this happening, Chagaev is a proven world contender, he's always been around the top but never able to prove himself ready to take a shot at the Klitschko brothers.

Fury should win on points really and having the WBA world title would be good for his career in the long term, plus Chagaev would make it a good fight, he comes in to fight and he's no pushover so he would help fury wade further into world contention.

That is if the fight with Wladimir doesn't happen soon enough for Fury anyway.
