Ah ok, it seemed like a lot at the time but when you compare it to the others mentioned its not in the same league.

I read an article of a guy taking several red hot baths with epsom salts in, plus only taking tiny sips of water - and then in the evening running in bin bags - and he shed 24lb in 24 hours.

Weigh in two hours before the fight - they aren't going to scarf down 14 pounds plus (in water weight) worth of food two hours before they are about to go on.

It would get rid of the weigh in as an event but so what?

Adrien Broner done the same thing a few years back (against Escobedo i think). Not only that but he was posting pics of himself on twitter before the weigh in eating bags of crisps etc. as if flaunt the fact that he wasnt even trying to make the weight. That kind of action sums that guy up.

Its happened a few times recently seems more people happy to sacrifce some of there purse than make weight

Mayweather done it to marquez also , Golovkins last opponent didnt make the weight and also Salido??? was it that beat lomachenko and gave up title in process coming in heavy
