Tyson senses doom lol. When did Tyson turn into a basset hound 15 minutes before an earthquake.

He's even willing to take some to get his counters off. That was the trick against Pacquiao. Now ask yourself is Floyd willing to do that?koolkc107 wrote:
Floyd is a sharper, more accurate counterpuncher than JMM.
And Manny may find out too late that Floyd punches as hard or harder.
Below are links to compubox stats for all 4 fights.
If you are a Pac fan, this does not bode well no matter what Iron Mike says...

You laughing your ass off at your own lack of boxing knowledge. Have a watch of Bradley vs JMM then tell us how funny the notion is that Marquez puts himself in range order to take 1 to counter with a combo.koolkc107 wrote:Putting himself in position to be hit?IKSRTFO wrote:Means nothing because they are different types of counter punchers. LMAO!!!!
He boxes and boxes well but he still gets hit because he is unable to move out of the way of punches coming (not willing), just look at his first fight with Manny, he was younger then and faster but was still unable to get out of the way of the shots.koolkc107 wrote:LOL!
Marquez getting in range is not the same as him being willing to take a shot to give one.
The best counterpunchers (and JMM certainly is one) try to use distance to draw fire yet NOT get hit.
JMM gets hit more now because he is older, simple as that.
Hint: Check Pac's punches landed in each fight.
Hint 2: Compare how much JMM gets hit by Pac to how much other fighters get hit by Pac.
JMM is definitely NOT trying to give some to get some. He boxes and boxes well.

Later in the fight he did much better than he did initially but let's make no mistake, Manny was basically catching/hitting him at will which is why he was able to score 3 knockdowns.
Go and ask JMM if he wanted to be knockdown 3 times by Manny in their first fight or those other times he was put down and I can guarantee anyone that JMM will not say "I was waiting for him to hit me so I could counter".
Only mayweather's style is nothing like Marquez'skoolkc107 wrote:What is really funny about what Mike is saying is that his information is flat out wrong.
In a way, he proves what a tough night it is going to be for Pac.
He cites Bradley and JMM as guys who "throw 100 punches a round".
Well, Tim did throw a lot of punches the first time he and Manny fought...and most of us know he lost.
He threw less punches the 2nd fight and was even with Manny halfway thru.
JMM, on the other hand, never has thrown a lot of punches against Pac.
He throws about 500 to 550 in 12 rounds...which is about what Floyd customarily does.
Only Mayweather is much more accurate.
True. Floyd's style will translate to a much easier antidote to Pac than JMM's has.Ricky_ wrote:Only mayweather's style is nothing like Marquez'skoolkc107 wrote:What is really funny about what Mike is saying is that his information is flat out wrong.

Lumping Floyd and JMM under the "counter-puncher" umbrella is foolish. Marquez's style is significantly different from Mayweather's.koolkc107 wrote:Floyd is a sharper, more accurate counterpuncher than JMM.IKSRTFO wrote:Yes he's done better against Manny but that's like saying Maidana and Castillo did better against Floyd. It doesn't dispute the fact that they didn't win. Marquez only won once.jujigatame wrote:
Fact is, the first 3 fights could all have gone either way, and he's clearly done better against Manny than any other opponent. And you know this.
